If you're having that hard of time of it, just pretend Wood is injured when the season starts and won't be back for 4-6 weeks. Then, just keep extending it with made-up stories about him not progressing as much as you would hope, scheduled to throw off flat ground soon, towel drills, simulated games, setbacks, etc.

Is It Possible We Were Wrong?

by: cubbiejulie

No, it's not.

But there's no denying that Ronny had a good day today. He went 3-3 and came up a HR short of hitting for the cycle. No, I'm not kidding.

Yes, Ronny CEDENO.

It's no secret that I'm not a big fan. But if he starts hitting, and if his play keeps Ryan Theriot out of the starting SS spot, I might consider. .  . not. . . hating him. As much.

In other news today, Jason Marquis gave up 5 hits and one run in 5 innings. Scott Eyre walked one and gave up no hits in one inning of work. Kevin Hart continues to impress, allowing no hits and striking out 2 in one inning.

On the offensive side, DeRosa went 1 for 2 with a walk, including an RBI triple to drive in Fukudome. ARam hit a three-run, opposite field homer in the 6th, and the game-winning run was driven in by. .  . . Ronny Cedeno.

No, I'm not kidding.

Check out the expanded box score if you don't believe me.

It's Tuesday night and this is your open thread.

cedeno
is a ghost face killer in this developmental league type situations. if its down to him and the riot, in the words of happy gilmore: "green jacket, gold jacket, who gives a shit?"

fuck mariotti.

Banned from mongoloid daycare since Dec, 2006.

i have plenty of confidence
that once Ronny makes the team, he'll go back to sucking.

Word
On the Wu-Tang reference.

That's that with that.

I believe in Cedeno, and by that I mean
that I believe he will return to E6, or E4, or whatever E- he ends up being until Lou benches him and we all breathe a collective sigh.

Either that, or we're wrong.  I am too drunk to know.

Hmph.
Last season I tried to make a deal with Ronny Cedeno, watching a Cubs/Brewers game on the TV at Beat Kitchen. Down by 1 run, 2 outs, bottom on the 9th.

"If you hit a homerun here, Ronny, or even just get on BASE, I'll never say anything bad about you ever again."

He grounded out to second. I was secretly relieved, 'cause I'm pretty sure I couldn't have held up my end of it.

that is my point
he always comes through, by blowing it out his ass.

He went for a HR short of the cycle in a meaningless spring training game.  That is his career in a nutshell.

AMC is showing Red Dawn
It is indeed an American Movie Classic.

"He said 'No,' Err...with his foot."

Avenge me!!!!!
I harbor such a guilty affection for that movie.

I must confess...
....I found that it was on last night as I was flipping through the channels........

And proceeded to stay up until 1:00 AM watching the whole thing.

Wolverines!!!

I believe!
Ok, no I don't, but I really really want to be able to wear my Cedeno jersey without being laughed at.

It's the only home jersey I have, and I like wearing home jerseys better :(

That was an . . . interesting choice.

75% off!
Next to the Barrett ones.

I hope
It's a Baltimore home jersey...

Every spring Ronny looks good...
but once those extra decks are added to the grandstands, he become the batboy we all love to hate.

Give me a new ballpark, please!

Heads up!
Theriot >>>>>> Cedeno.

I really do
agree with that one.

As of right now, this is true
But look out, baby! Here comes Ronny!

Ryan Theriot isn't better than anyone
much less Ronny Cedeno.

Ronny Cedeno sucks only less so than Ryan Theriot.  Stop drinking the Nutsack Juice.

[ Parent ]
He is right now
If Ronny gets better, that won't be the case. If Ronny has another start to the season like he did last year, Theriot is still our best option, as sad as that statement is.

[ Parent ]
False
Jim Beam and Coke has always been our best option.   Or Johnnie Walker Blue.

[ Parent ]
foolish new person...
...prove it.
