Kansas wrapped up the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament by beating Davidson 59-57, ending the Wildcats' Cinderella run and sending the Jayhawks to the Final Four.
Stephen Curry was, as always, the leading scorer, with 25 points. But he lost his deadly accuracy from three-point range, making just four of his 15 shots from beyond the arc. In the closing seconds, Curry had the ball in his hands with Davidson down by two, but instead of shooting he dished off to Jason Richards, who missed the potential game-winner as the buzzer sounded.
For Kansas, Mario Chalmers and Sasha Kaun had 13 points points apiece, with the 6-foot-11 Kaun coming off the bench and making all six of his shots against the smaller Davidson frontcourt.
The Kansas win ensures that tor the first time ever, all four No. 1 seeds advanced to the Final Four. It's a good day for those annoying people who always play it safe in the office pool, and next Saturday and Monday should be good days for people who like good basketball. The four best teams in the country are headed to San Antonio.

davidson has nothing to be ashamed of. They showed that they are a powerhouse in the NCAA. Anybody who watched this game knows that there was no way that the refs were going to let "little" Davidson beat "goliath" Kansas. They would have lost their job. Thumbs up to the davidson wildcats who played their hearts out..even when the so called basketball "experts" said they couldn't do it. This team was not a one man team and it is a shame that they ceratinly were not given the credit they deserved. Hold you heads high Davidson... North carolina fans need to count their lucky stars that they did not have to face you again... Their days would definitely have been numbered. You lucked out again Roy..but I ceratinly hope for not long!!!!!

Good job, Davidson. A scrappy team that should be proud to have made it as far as it did. Kansas simply had too much depth and strength, especially on defense.

Someone did tell me that Davidson was a good team...myself..no one had to tell me I have followed them all season... I am not trying to ruin anything by talking about the refs but if you are lucky enough to watch the game again, you will see that the refs were surely aligned to the fact that Kansas was a number one seed!!!!! They are surely not going to rock the boat..Go Davidson... By the way..you don't need to tell me who is a good team..I know as much as anyone!! I have followed basketball all my life and I am entitled to my opinion as much as anyone!!! I am not making excuses just presenting the facts...

Davidson had a terrific tournament; Kansas was dismal in the final and will have a very tough time beating anyone in the Final Four. Self had no ideas on how to get inside and use KU's size advantage against Davidson. Couldn't cover Curry (no disgrace). Hard to believe KU was so outcoached. Look for Memphis to roll. They are better than advertised.

Kansas was very lucky to get to the Final Four.........having seen all four teams, Memphis' size and speed should prevail over the rest of the field.............they just do not seem to have any fundamental weaknesses.........next week's game should be AMAZING!!

I REFUSE TO WATCH THE RACIST NCAA TOURNAMENT WHICH FEATURES 95% BLACK PLAYERS, WHEN THE SCHOOLS ARE OVERWHELMINGLY WHITE. I'M NOT INTEREST IN SEEING 10 BLACK PLYERS WHO STATISTICALLY BREAK DOWN AS FOLLOWS:
1. 25% WILL END UP IN PRISON.
2. 17% WILL GRADUATE COLLEGE.
3. 85% WILL IMPREGNATE WOMEN OUT OF WEDLOCK.
4. OF THAT 85%, 60% WILL EVADE THEIR PARENTAL
RESPONSIBILITY.
ALSO, I'D LIKE TO SEE A BASKETBALL GAME, NOT WALKING POSTER IDOLS FOR "TATTOO" PARLORS. I'LL TURN ON THE GAME. IF THE STARTING FIVE IS NOT RACE REPRESENTATIVE--CHANNELS CHANGE. YOU SAY ONLY THE BEST SHOULD PLAY? I AGREE. BUT EXTEND THAT PHILOSOPHY TO COLLEGE ADMISSIONS. ONLY "THE BEST" SHOULD GET IN; EXTEND THAT PHILOSOPHY TO JOB HIRINGS; ONLY THE "BEST" SHOULD GET THE JOB.
SUDDENLY,
..THE CONCEPT OF BEST" DOESN'T SEEM TOO VALID. KNOW WHAT KEEPS RACE HATRED ALIVE. TALK TO THE PARENTS OF WHITE STUDENTS WHO DESPITE VERY SUPERIOR SAT SCORES; SUPERIOR GRADE POINT AVERAGES; VASTLY SUPERIOR ADMISSIONS ESSAYS, ARE DENIED ADMISSION. REMEMBER, THE ONLY THING THAT LASTS LONGER THAN HATRED GENERATED BY SOMEONE "DISSING" YOUR CHILD IS, HERPES.

Wow, Strong! Racist much!? First of all, ask yourself why 95% of the players are black in the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA fields the best players. At the present time, those players are mostly black. Think about the social dynamics behind it. You don't even have to be a sociology major to figure this out. Basketball markets to hip-hop culture and to African-Americans. That's why the players are predominantly black.
You can do yourself a real favor. Instead of hopping on the Internet and writing off a hateful spiel that makes you look like an uncultured bigot, just keep your mouth shut and not watch the games, that way, you don't offend anybody with your ignorance.
I'm not done. If your going to put statistics up, cite your sources. AS far as I'm concerned, you pulled those numbers out of your ass. What makes you the authority of who gets to college? Who is the best? Do you really know? I doubt it.
Know what keeps race hatred alive? People like you, who instead of looking for real solutions to real problems, point the finger and then incite, like they have amonopoly on righteous anger. Fool! You reap what you sow.
Now I'm done.

Linda, I would really like it if you WOULD rewatch the game. You totally missed what the refs were calling. Davidson got EVERY opportunity to beat KU and the refs made the game close because they were giving Davidson EVERY opportunity plus some. I think the refs were blind as they seemed to give Davidson the ball every time it was knocked out of bounds and failed to call fouls on Davidson. You must be a Davidson fan as I am a KU fan. But even the announcers of the game were commenting about how the refs were not calling things they should have been. I don't think the announcers are prejudice to whom should have won. Obviously, you haven't watched alot of basketball like you state.

Davidson was outstanding and played their hearts out. Kansas (my alma mater)didn't show up the first half, but prevailed with a lot of luck. Happy for Bill Self and the Jayhawks. Now onto the Tarheels.

Sheryl, Unlike you I am not prejudice toward any team. I am not an avid Davidson fan, but have followed them closely because I live in NC. I call it like I see them and Davidson was knocked around and the calls definitely did not go in their direction. As far as the announcers are concerned, Lenny Elmore and the anouncers already have made their predictions and have their favorites, and I surely don't put any weight to what they may say.. If you do, then you are more of a follower than a leader. The announcers are human and have their opinion just like we do..they certainly are no experts.. Like I said before, I call it as I see it..You don't have to agree, but Kansas is over rated... As much as I would like for you to beat UNC , you will not.. Your team was lucky to advance to the final four...and whether you believe it or not..the refs were on your side...let's let next week speak for itself.. good luck to you.. but davidson would have had a much better chance of beating the tarheels than your Kansas Jayhawks will... and by the way I don't know it all but I have followed basketball all my life and your opinion is no better than mine...

Kansas had the refs on their sides, but so did UCLA, Memphis, and especially UNC(AKA the whiner Hasbrough, the guy is the ugliest overrated baby I have ever seen). Just the way it is. Like Superbowl 40 the refs will always favor one team.

I think Davidson played there hearts out, and I give them a tremendous amount of credit for pushing Kansas to the limit.
The refs were not in favor of Kansas. I am a KU fan and I watched the game very slow, rewinding alot on the DVR because I couldn't believe some of the calls I was seeing. Granted, I did see KU get away with a few, but I still feel Davidson got the majority of the calls there way. Either way, if the ref isn't 100% sure on a call, especially during tournament time, I would rather see them skip the whisle and let the two teams on the court decide the outcome, not the refs. Sometimes they get whisle happy and I think it takes away from the game. I would rather see a no call, than a bad call that could change the whole game.
And Strong, get a life, I am white and I think you are on the wrong blog in the first place. Davidson started 3 white guys and had plenty more on the bench. White, black, hispanic, asian, I don't care. I think we're watching the best of the best right now, and it's great to watch. (and Kansas has plenty of white guys on there team as well).
One other comment to Davidson fans that say they would have given UNC a better game. Now I know they were on quite a ride, but coming into the tournament, they hadn't beaten a single top 100 team.
And if,(not that it would happen, but if) Curry had a bad game, would Davidson even stand a chance. He's usually half there offense. KU is very balanced and as an announcer once said, the Jayhawks "go to guy" is the man that's open. (because they can all score)
Just watch the game next sat., KU is going to beat UNC and go on to hoist the banner next to the one they got 20yrs. ago with Manning and the Miracles.
Peace, I'm out
