Last year, Eagles tackle Tra Thomas changed his name to William Thomas.
He’s now changing his name back to Tra.
Sheesh.
As we pointed out in a recent One-Liner, Eagles defensive end Juqua Thomas recently changed his name to Juqua Parker. Former Eagles cornerback William Peterson previously changed his name to William James.
In order to better relate to his players, we suggest that coach Andy Reid change his name as well.
How about T-Bone? (Hopefully it hasn’t already been claimed.)

William is quite an unusual name compared to Tra…….I don’t blame him.

To be fair, the initial name change from Tra to William was merely his desire to be called by his given name again. Tra was a nickname he picked up somewhere along the way in his amateur football career. It was all a part of his rededication to the game following the 2005 season, when he missed 6 games due to injury. It was the same offseason in which he declared he wanted to play “10 more years”. If I remember correctly, it was an effort to take the game more seriously and to be taken seriously. I think there was something in there about respect for his mother, who had given him that name…
So maybe this change from William back to Tra, while not a legal action as in the case of his teammate Juqua Parker, is just an effort to feel younger. I say we should move the PFT planet to nickname him “spanky”. Have you ever met someone over the age of 10 with the nickname “spanky”? And if you have, how much did you tip her?

I heard Jim Johnson is already nicknamed T-Bone, and there’s no way you can have two T-Bones on one staff. I’d suggest Gammy but I think Marty Morhinweg was alreay bequethed that title.
