A day after
the Los Angeles Times reported that
Brett Favre's agent is asking NFL teams if they're interested in acquiring him in a trade with the Green Bay Packers, Favre himself has vehemently denied it in
an interview with Peter King of Sports Illustrated.
"That's the last thing I'm thinking about,'' Favre told SI.com. "I have no idea where that came from, but it certainly didn't come from me. I'm happy about my decision and I haven't once said, 'I wonder if I made the wrong decision.' I know it's the right one. ...
"It's crazy to me that I'm the guy they're all talking about, and the story is out there everywhere, and I have nothing to do with it,'' he said. "It's not something I'm thinking about. It's kind of funny. Even when I'm retired, they won't let me stay retired.''
Favre sounded like he was very much ready to walk away when he tearfully said goodbye to football last month, and it seems awfully hard to believe that he would be angling for a way to play for another team less than a month later. "Not once have I felt like working out and getting ready for football,'' Favre told King. "I just don't miss it.''

After crying like a baby through that excruciating press conference, Favre better stay retired. No one can take another blubbering like that again.

What is going on at the LA Times. First they accuse Puff Daddy of attempted murder (oops) and now they seemingly make up this story about Farve. Lack of credibility in the print media....

Farve like most passers are only as good as their offensive lines. If you dont think so look at what happened to Brady in the big game. And i agree that was a lot of blubbering for a professional player. Stay washed-up i mean retired Farve.

Washed up? Come on. Turn off your internet brain and use your real one. He's obviously a good player, the numbers don't lie. As a Packers fan I do think he got lucky last year after a years-long decline, and I'm glad to see him go out on top of his game, relatively speaking. That said, I don't want him back -- bring on the future. Time to regroup. Get on with it.

Why would any aging quarterback whose team went 13-3 last season, with all the records he holds, not retire? He won't play for anyone but Green Bay;
I'm not sure anyone wants him to play, especially the Packers, who would lose Aaron Rodgers if Favre came back. Rodgers isn't going to wait indefinitely.
As far as insinuating his wife might have leaked a possible return, that's luicrous! Deanna may have been the most instrumental in Brett's decision to retire.

#4 Russ, same goes for you. The man played for 17 years, at least show him the respect to spell his name correctly. F-A-V-R-E. (And no, I am not a Packers fan. Roess)

Hey # 4 Russ, Brady had a good offensive line. Why do you think they won all those games. Brett Favre just happens to be more athletic than Brady and does not stand in the pocket forever. Too bad you don't follow football. By the way, the way Brady is going it will take him 10 years to catch up and surpass his records. Go try another sport, somethging like volleyball.

What? Grown men are not supposed to show emotion. Out of what cave did you crawl? I will not even discuss his abilities or durability. They are givens. I do think he made the right decision to spend time with his family, espcecially Deanna, who is a cancer survivor. There is no guarantee that it will not come back, and he would never forgive himself for not spending time with her while he could. A class act all the way around!!!!!!!!!!!!
