Vikes center, Matt Birk has decided to act like a child. Birk is the Vikes longest tenured player and he is in his final year of his contract. The Harvard graduate is a six time Pro Bowler and arguably one of the best at his position.Birk has declared publicly that he will be skipping the voluntary (not really) portion of the Vikings’ offseason program. He also will be MIA for the Vikes Organized Team Activities unless he gets a new deal.
I understand where he is coming from, he wants to get PAID, but c’mon on. Why would he use the media to get a new deal? Matty Birk, you are better then this!
I think the Vikes will pay the man. He is a leader and the Vikes have cap room. Give him a five year deal for some serious cash and he likely has three more solid years in him.
Still no defensive ends or quarterback competition.

I be crying to if I knew I was going to be a viking for the rest of my career. Just pay the man, like you said he is role model on and off the field.
