Wizards-Cavs: Game 1 Live Blog, 4th Quarter

Wizards @ Cavaliers | 1st Qtr | 2nd Qtr | 3rd Qtr | 4th Qtr

The final frame (probably) for this one is here. Jamison and Arenas are carrying Washington; LeBron's doing it for Cleveland. Who will finish it?

2:37: Fairly low-possession, Cleveland type of game so far (70 possessions, projected out to 93-94 for the game). Washington's great shooting from Tawn and Gil has been muted by a lack of efficiency from the other perimeter guys.

2:40: Ilgauskas has been quietly excellent, as well. 18 and 7.

2:41: Carlisle loves saying the word "Boobie" and Cleveland fans love hearing it. Cleveland's up 1; Roger Mason draws Gil's ire by taking a Gil-type shot.

2:44: The Cavs are +20 right now when Z is on the floor, and -17 when he's not. LeBron's +/- is +3. This is likely because Z watched Gil's first half run from the bench.

2:46: Expectedly, Cleveland's paying more attention to Gil. He needs to translate that into assists and free throws. Nice drop-off to Haywood there, which results in a Haywood free throw. Next time down: Arenas draws contact to get to the line. That's vintage Gil ... his foul-drawing has been historically underrated.

2:49: Butler's guarding LeBron now (and vice versa); LeBron shoots right over the top. Butler misses a three on the other end, Varejao converts a deuce and Cleveland's up 77-73.

2:52: Stevenson is all sorts of cold. Ice cold, freezing cold. All sorts. 0-8 field, 0-5 three. Almost all of them have been open.

2:53: Carlisle just said Zero's in "Murder Mode." Awesome, I think. Ilgauskas is unstoppable from the elbow.

2:54: DeShawn from three! He ties the game from the wing with his first make. 82-82. Fantastic game.

2:59: West still can't guard Arenas? Shocking! Washington up by 2. Varejao with a 12-foot running hook fadeway. No good.

3:00: Another running scoop by Varejao. Still no good.

3:01: LeBron draws a very late but ultimately valid whistle. He'll go to the line with a chance to tie and less than three minutes to go in regulation. I smell overtime, if for no other reason than the incredibly compelling Spurs-Suns Game 1 is up next.

3:05: LeBron ties it at 84. Butler loses the ball, but Washington manages to hold it at the cost of a timeout.

3:07: LeBron floats through the air with a tough lay-in for the two-point lead. Gil can't get it back with a baseline fadeaway. LeBron then abuses Stevenson to get into the lane. Cavs by 4, 55 seconds left.

3:10: Washington's offense has fallen apart, and Gil has a jumpball coming with Joe Smith.

3:12: LeBron draws a foul by ... um ... falling down to catch the tip from Smith? Tough call there.

3:14: We've got 33 seconds left, and Eddie Jordan already gone into foul mode. This could take another 17 minutes. Gibson hits one of two, for a 5-point lead. Gil goes the length of the floor, throws up a bad lay-up attempt, Cavs rebound, game just about over.

3:15: How did Washington's offense fall apart so quickly? Butler never really gotten into the offense, but Gil and 'Tawn were smokin' through three quarters. Of course, LeBron just missed two FTAs, so it's over yet.

3:17: Butler misses another three, and the game's ending. West at the line, Cavs up 5, 15 seconds.

3:18: West hits both, up by 7. The refs call ... something. Seriously? What the fungus is that? Jumpball at midcourt, Cleveland gets it. Game Over.

Goodnight, now. Spurs-Suns preview/thread coming.
