On behalf of ProFootballCentral.com, I sat down today with former New England Patriot Joe Andruzzi, who has a remarkable story to tell. He received a clean bill of health this week, after a 2007 diagnosis of the most aggressive form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma, called Burkitt’s lymphoma.

Joe talked to me about what happened and how he made it through the ordeal, with his family and friends in hand.

As well, he speaks for the benefit of the help that came his way and the help that exists for those like him, like a simple blood drive. “You never realize how much a simple blood drive can help millions of people,” says Andruzzi.
While it seems that he won’t return to the professional football ranks, Joe is doing much better. He is currently involved with the Boston Children’s Hospital’s cancer research and LLS (the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society).

You can hear my interview with him, including everything else he has to say, at this link: http://www.profootballcentral.com/2008/05/09/pfc-exclusive-interview-with-joe-andruzzi/#more-435.

As the newest reporter of ProFootballCentral.com, I’ll be interviewing more NFL players, past and present throughout the season. Be sure to check back here for a recap of those interviews, and visit PFC Radio to download the complete interview.
