Yo, Adrian
Adrian Peterson thinks he can rush for 2,000 yards. Yes, sir he does. But the point is that the Packers must stop him from reaching that goal.
“I’d be cheating myself if I kind of set it lower,” Peterson said during an appearance in Brainerd, Minn. “But 2,000 yards, that’s my goal. I’m just going to work hard to give myself an opportunity to reach that goal.”
The main question is whether or not the Minnesota Vikings running back can stay healthy. Which he most likely will not be able to.
In 2007, Peterson appeared in 14 games for the Vikings, nine of them starts. I’d have to say he was pretty successful. In his two games against the Packers, Peterson rushed for 157 yards on 23 carries, which is pretty darn good. However, in the second game, Peterson had 11 carries for 45 yards before this happened:

I personally do not think Peterson will be able to rush for 2,000 yards. He gets injured way too much and defenses will be keying on him this year more than last. The only teams that had relative success against him in 2007 were the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Denver Broncos. Peterson will have to learn how to read defenses better this year as teams will have more time to scheme against him. It may seem like it will be easy, but it will most likely not happen.
That being said, I am still predicting 1,600+ yards out of Mr. Peterson.
