The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees got destroyed by the Pawtucket Red Sox by a score of 11-5. Starting for Scranton was Jeff Karstens and he did not pitch well giving up 6 earned runs on 7 hits in 3.2 innings for the loss. Replacing Karstens was Billy Traber and he gave up 3 earned runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Following Traber was Steven White and he gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits in 1.2 innings. J.B. Cox pitched 1.1 scoreless innings. The hitting stars of the game for Scranton worth mentioning were right-fielder Jason Lane, short stop Nick Green and second baseman Bernie Castro. Lane went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored and 1 rbi. Green went 2 for 4 with 2 rbi’s and Castro went 1 for 3 with 1 rbi.

Double A

The Trenton Thunder beat up on the Altoona Curve by a score of 7-2. Starting for the Trenton Thunder was Phil Coke and he gave up 2 runs on 8 hits in 7 innings of work for the win but 1 run was unearned because of a throwing error by catcher Joseph Muich. Replacing Coke to start the 8th inning was Anthony Claggett and he pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 3 hits for the save. The hitting stars of the game for Trenton worth mentioning were short stop Ramiro Pena, left-fielder Colin Curtis, DH Edwar Gonzalez and right-fielder Jose Tabata. Pena went 4 for 5 with 1 run scored. Curtis went 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored and 1 rbi along with 3 walks. That’s a lot of times to get on base. Gonzalez went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored and Tabata went 2 for 5 with 2 rbi’s.

The Charleston RiverDogs got hammered by the Augusta GreenJackets and lost by a score of 9-8. Starting for the RiverDogs was Dellin Betances and he got absolutely rocked giving up 8 runs on 8 hits in 3.2 innings for the loss but 1 run was unearned because of a missed catch error by third baseman Brandon Laird. Replacing Betances was Wilkins De La Rosa and he gave up 1 earned run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Following De La Rosa was Chace Vacek and he pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 1 hit and his era now stands at 1.13 for the year. The hitting stars of the game for the RiverDogs worth mentioning were DH Jesus Montero, first baseman Brian Baisley, short stop Carmen Angelini and left-fielder Walter Ibarra. Montero went 3 for 5 with 1 run scored and 1 rbi. Baisley went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Angelini went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 rbi and Ibarra went 2 for 4 with 3 rbi’s.
