  • Spurs/Lakers Game 4 - Was Brent Barry fouled?

    May 27th, 2008 by Eze

In my opinion, Brent Barry should be asking the lovely Kate Faber for her extra Rape-Kit, but…you make the call. Was Brent Barry fouled and should it have resulted in two free throws?

    1. Ginobli's Bald Spot Says:

-Lamar’s block on Parker was called a goal tend.
-Fisher hit the rim, so the 24 second shot clock should have reset giving the Lakers the ball with a fresh 24 second clock ending the game
-Barry was not in the act of shooting since he dribbled after he was hit.

    2. Eze Says:

The Fisher call was botched for sure on the shot clock.

Not sure on the block…it was tight.

The foul would have put the Lakers over the limit though on Barry.

    3. John from Hemet Says:

The Kate Faber comment is so classless.

    4. Eze Says:

LOL. You do know this entire blog is classless, right? lol

    5. Hah Says:

I don’t understand how “no call” is an option. The question is “Was it a foul?”.
Now, unless you’re a blind bat who disagrees with the NBA league office itself, you can see it’s obviously a foul.

And I hate people who say the Lakers “deserved” it because they played harder. Listen, the team that wins it, wins it. It’s as easy as that. If they had rightfully called the foul, it wouldn’t have been anymore stealing as it is that they didn’t call the foul and stole it from the Spurs, it wouldn’t have anymore been a referee “deciding a game” as it is a referee deciding a game by NOT calling an ACTUAL FOUL.

So yeah, put a big asterisk on the Laker win, if they win.

    6. philipm31 Says:

The point is that the referees screwed up a LOT of close calls at the end of the game, and how in the WORLD does Kobe shoot 29 TIMES and NEVER GETS FOULED?? Home cooking much?? The Lakers were getting hosed the entire night by the referees. Handle the no-call situation like the Spurs did…with class. And move on. I guarantee you Pop and Co. have already moved onto getting ready for tonight’s game in LAL….which is not being televised here in China due to Politics….even though China says they don’t want other countries to politicize the Olympics, they have NO problem politicizing the NBA Playoffs. What a load of crap.
