Drink Brooks and Eddie Like Fine Wine
By Jamie Mottram | June 9, 2008
Until today, that headline would have been metaphorical; an appreciation of two of Baltimore’s finest ballplayers. But, no, it’s meant more literally:
Eddie Murray & Brooks Robinson have launched their own wine labels. The players will not profit a single dime. Instead, 100% of their proceeds will support The Baltimore Community Foundation. Expected retail is $18.99. Both Eddie Murray 504 Cabernet Sauvignon & Brooks Robinson Chardonnay are produced by Eos Estate Winery out of Paso Robles, California.

You can buy these bad boys all over Maryland, and you have a choice to make when doing so. Eddie or Brooks? Red or white? Cab or Chardonnay? The recommendation here is to support a good cause (The Wire is real, man) and pick up both. And don’t be one of those collectors who doesn’t open the goods for fear of losing value. These aren’t like a box of Wheaties — the sweet nectar inside is just too good for that kind of foolishness.
(Enjoy a promo pic of the duo after the jump, and thank Roch for the tip.)
