Nationwide Series

The Nascar Nationwide series is always a blast, and this year is no different. Most of the star racing champs seem to have dropped a few points with the exception of Kyle Busch who seems to be doing well these days, specially when he pulled off a spectacular win at the Dollar general 300. Kyle Busch has a wonderful history at the Nascar Nationwide series and this year is no different. Kyle Busch’s Toyota seems to be doing him some big favors, as you don’t see him having many on track issues as he used to.

Kyle Bush was closely followed by Jeff Burton, and Brian Vickers both coming in at 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Kyle Bush leads with 195 points, however the series is being led by Clint Bowyer having accumulated 4552 points. In second position we have Carl Edwards who is tailing Clint Bowyer by 196 points.

Kyle Busch’s victory at the Dollar General 300 puts him in the no.6 spot. This means that if Busch keeps up his winning ways he can climb in to the top 5 racing category. The Nascar Nationwide series is still anyone’s game, however Carl Edwards seems to have a better chance of grabbing the no.1 spot than anyone lower down the list. He seems to be in good racing form, and challenges Clint Bowyer for every ounce of fuel that he has.

Kyle Busch has a history of suddenly climbing the ladder and clinching the no.1 spot, we would be interested in seeing him do that again. For the time being though it’s Clint Boyer and Carl Edwards, that seem to be steeling the show. We wouldn’t however underestimate Brad Keselowski, how is in the no.3 spot with 4266 points.

Clint Bowyer is our favorite for this year. He seems to be in good form, and his experience seems to be giving him an edge over the boldness of Kyle Busch. Busch has a lot of talent but he still needs to get more track experience before he can take on racing masters such as Client Bower. Bower has a history of staying in the top 5 spot and he looks to be in a strong position. If anything the Nascar Nationwide series, isn’t over...

The Chase

Five races more to go until the third annual Nascar Nextel Cup chase for the Championship – the chase race to the top ten is on and each driver is stepping on the paddle and pumping up the heat as the season enters its most interesting phase.

The heavy duty Nascar stars like Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Tony Stewart have by no means secured themselves in the top ten of this chase race yet.

Other respected and sometimes threatening Nascar drivers like Kasey Kahne, Kurt Busch and Greg Biffle are snapping at the feet of the top guns – and in a chase race anything can happen. The likes of Jeff Burton who is positioned at number three is not even safe by any stretch of the imagination in this chase race.

Mark Martin is currently at number 6 and he should be “good” unless he runs into some bad luck at Nascar‘s threatening tracks, Watkins Glen or Bristol – these two tracks are tricky and a lot can go wrong very fast during these chase races. So fans will have to keep their fingers crossed on those tracks.

Denny Hamlin is sitting at the 7th spot at the moment. Can Hamlin do what Carl Edwards did last year? Can he hold on the top ten? Can he do it in this chase race? Once again Denny being a young gun at Nascar there is a great chance that something may not go well at Watkins and Bristol – these tracks have proven to be dangerous for rookies during these tough chase races.

The Nascar great, Jeff Gordon is at the 8th Position. Gordon is very good at Waktins Glen and Bristol – these are the tracks where Jeff can capitalize as these are the track where his Nascar opponents are most likely to falter.

Tony Stewart is positioned at the 9th place. There is no track that Tony can’t drive on but that doesn’t mean that he can’t have a slip up. Tony has faced his share of mis-fortunes in the Nascar chase race 2006 event, so maybe he has learnt his lessons and hopefully he would breeze through the remaining chase race tracks.
