Considering that the Knicks new coach requires it, and the Knicks haven't had one since Doc Rivers, it is critical that we draft a Point Guard this year. Most of the draft experts agree with this notion. Here is a look at the strengths and weaknesses of the two that will most likely be around when the Knicks have to make their selection.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name/College: Russell Westbrook, UCLA
Height/Weight/Age: 6-3, 192, 19
Good Haircut?: If you like
Flaming basketballs then Fuck Yeah!
Likely To Sexually Harass Interns?: Hard to tell but I'd say anythings possible
Strengths:
1) Defense! was named All Pac-10 Defensive 1st team
2) Elevation. This boy can jump
3) Huge wingspan and Hands
Weaknesses:
1) Ball Handling not so great actually
2) Shot is a bit flat, can't shoot off dribble very well
3) Turnover prone

Name/College/Age: D.J. Augustin, Texas, 20
Height/Weight 5-11, 190 (Soaking wet)
Good Haircut?:Could use a
tighten up
Likely To Sexually Harass Interns?: Wouldn't put it past him but wouldn't bet on it either
Strengths:
1) Good shooter, especially from behind the arc and the charity stripe
2) Is a true PG and looks to pass first
3) Smart, doesn't turn ball over much
Weaknesses:
1) Too Short! I wish I was a little bit taller...
2) limited lateral speed which may hurt him defensively
3) Not much of a mid range game
YouTube Highlight Link: Point Guarding at its best
Verdict: After doing a this analysis, I must say that I think Augustin is a better fit for the Knicks and D'Antoni's offense. Westbrook seems good but may not have the basketball IQ to be an effective PG in this system.
