Oakland Raiders News: Sam Keller signed, Erik Meyer waived
As we strive to stay on top of Raider News here at TFDS we have found that Steve Corkran of The Media News Group is reporting that the Oakland Raiders have signed former San Ramon Valley High quarterback Sam Keller, and waived Erik Meyer to make room. This could make for an interesting local angle to the back up quarterback competition.
Look for Keller to still be a long shot to unseat Marques Tuiasosopo and Andrew Walter as back-up quarterbacks. Keller was not picked up by the Bucs as an UDFA, and has been playing with the LA Avengers of the Arena League.

I'm with you Blues. I like Keller, and apparently he showed them something while Meyer didn't in his brief time with the Raiders. Patrick is right though, barring a trade of Walter, he doesn't have much chance of making the opening day roster.

I can't believe this. No not the Sam Keller signing but rather the fact that it is the eve of the NBA draft and the Blazers site on MVN is in hybernation (last post June 6th) while TFDS is still posting like crazy. You know damn well that this page is what keeps guys like Ryan Brown and Jon Yoon (Ketchup and Mustard Gang) turning their wheels trying to come up with new articles to write about. As well as guys like Mike49er (aka MikeR8r) thinking up new ways to try and play the Grinch to our roast beast. These guys want us on that line. They NEED us on that line.
Keep setting the standard guys and I will keep 'em comin'!

I wish we could trade Walter. I'm sure were not paying him much, but I'm sure we could pay Keller less. Your third string QB shouldn't make more than the minimum.
I''m not bagging on Walter. He was put in a terrible spot and it would be best for both sides to go their seperate ways. The Raiders can use just about anyone to be the third string, especially with McFadden and Curry that could be used in extreme emergencies. I'm sure Walter would love to get out of exile. Behind Russell and Tui, he may never play another regular season down if he stays in Oakland.
