Every Saturday, due to blackout restrictions, if I want to watch baseball I’m forced to watch Fox’s game of the week despite having paid hard earned money to order the Extra Innings baseball package. Other than not having my choice of games to watch on my day off, the other major pet peeve I have is when one of the players from each team has to read out the day’s lineup. It’s the most brutal 60 seconds of tv I watch all week. You can view one of these gems right here. However, today Gardner read the Yankees’ lineup today for Fox’s game of the week and he just read the names and positions. No stupid, silly jabs at teammates, no calling every third person in the order “The Hitman”, nothing. The rest of MLB should take note of this. Papelbon read the names for the Red Sox and wasn’t too terrible either, but I have a feeling it was only because he’s too stupid to come up with Mike “The Hit Man” Lowell.

I also learned today during the pregame that when he was 14, Kevin Youkilis had a bit part in one of my father’s favorite movies Milk Money (Big Papa Bars loves himself some Melanie Griffith). Here’s the clip. He’s the big doofy kid working the door asking the other kids to see their money.
