The PGA without Tiger…so far so good
Jul 8th, 2008 | By TeeOff | Category: Golf, Opinion, PGAWe are four tournaments in to the new, Tiger-less PGA Tour and there have been a few surprises and one golfer that is coming into his own.
Tommy Armour III has shown great ball striking in two of the three post-Tiger tournaments. He did not play in the Buick Open but finished tied for second at the Travelers Championship and tied for third at the AT&T National. Another seasoned veteran continuing his great season is Kenny Perry. He won the Buick Open for his second title of the season.
Anthony Kim is the most exciting player on Tour, especially after claiming his second win at the AT&T National last week. He has a little flare and a great golf game that has him climbing the world rankings…now at 14th.
Tiger is great but it has been nice to see guys like Kim really take charge as fans can see that there are some young golfers that can win more than once in a season. The best in the world will reconvene at the British Open Championship in two weeks but for now the Tour has seen a few exciting tournaments in Tiger’s absence.
