Even though I didn't blog about it, last month the North Carolina baseball team lost one of their assistant coaches, Chad Holbrook, who decided to take a job at South Carolina. Well, a couple of days ago head coach Mike Fox found Holbrook's replacement, by hiring Scott Jackson. The new hire comes with plenty of experience, as he has worked at Liberty, UNC Wilmington, Campbell, Barton and Wofford.
According to a brief article on ACC Now, Jackson will work with the Diamond Heels on hitting and baserunning. And from the sounds of it, he is very excited to be part of the team:
"I'm thrilled to be working at the best University in the country and with two guys in Coach [Mike] Fox and Coach [Scott] Forbes that are not only great coaches, but great people,'' Jackson said in a prepared statement.
Good luck to the newest member of the team, to the head coach and the whole coaching staff and team as they try to once again go back to the College World Series in the upcoming season.
