I have to say this, I'm writing this blog in disbelief, total disbelief. Another Syracuse player, Matt Jones (LB, 6'3"/220 lbs.), has been told that his grades aren't up to standards and he will not be able to come to the hill this pre-season. He is once again another young man from the area, making him the second upstater in this class, and fourth overall, who won't be present when the Orange begin working out as a team.
I also know that probably most are going to think about this, but somehow I have never been called "most" so I will actually say it, is the reason why two of the incoming recruits do not have the grades to come to SU because head coach Greg Robinson knew he needed to get players for this coming season and didn't look as hard at the academics as he should have? I know it is far fetched, I know it is pretty unbelievable, but if you had told me that the current coach would go 7-28 in his first three seasons it would have been pretty unbelievable as well.
I'm starting to believe that this is never ending. Everytime I think this has to be the last straw another one shows up and it's back to not understanding how everything has gone so wrong with this program in the last three years. As I said at the beginning of this blog, I'm in complete disbelief, and while there is no way to blame any single person for all of this, I think that both head coach Greg Robinson and AD Dr. Daryl Gross have to bear most of the blame.
All I can say at this point is "stay tuned for what happens next..."
