Start’em Sit’em – Week 6

It is time again for our fantasy advice for the week. Last week, we nailed our QB to start: Jason Campbell had a nice day throwing three TDs and no picks. We were also dead on about benching Pennington and Galloway. This week, consider these players if you need a fill in:

QBs – A lot of experts would tell you to start Kurt Warner, but we think that is too obvious. Our big play this week is Phillip Rivers. Rivers caught his stride last week and had a solid day against the best pass defense in the league. This week, he gets an Oakland “D” that has struggled against the pass. Rivers is primed for a big week.

Again this week we are going to advise you to sit Matt Schaub. He is still missing Ahman Green and Andre Johnson. This week he faces the Jacksonville Jaguars and their stout defense. Look for Schaub to struggle until his weapons return from injury.

RBs – This is going to be a big week for the running backs. We suggest you go with Lendale White. Tennessee is playing the Bucs and has been mediocre against the run. Look for White to step up and have a great week.

Believe it or not, the Vikings lead the league in run defense. That being the case, the Bears are going to let Griese throw the ball a lot. Cedric Benson has been less than stellar and that should not change this week.

WRs – This is going to be a breakout game for Jerry Porter. He now has a good QB in Culpepper and a less-than-average passing defense in San Diego. Expect Porter to go for 100 yards and a TD.

Green Bay and Brett Favre are due for a bad game and that could be this week against the Washington Redskins. If that happens, Donald Driver will be the one to suffer. Sit Driver if you have another alternative.

That is our take on this week’s plays. Please feel free to give us your suggestions. Come back next week for another installment of start’em sit’em.
