De La Hoya-Pacquiao Fight Not Dead?

Apparently not, according to Manny Pacquiao and Bob Arum.
The talk amongst the boxing world is that the De La Hoya-Pacquiao fight is dead in the water due to a conflict regarding the purse split. We reported last week that Golden Boy Promotions was offering Team Pacquiao a 70/30 purse split which didn't sit too well with the Pacman. Manny then made a statement through his lawyer stating that they would begin to pursue a November fight with Humberto Soto.
Well it looks like talks aren't necessarily dead just yet. Talking to insidesports.ph, Pacquiao stated that he felt the 70/30 purse split was a "slap in the face" but also made it known that he wants the fight to take place.
When asked about the status of the proposed fight, Bob Arum stated, "Discussions are still going on."
Either way, the time is ticking for a decision as Top Rank would need sufficient time to make plans for a Soto fight should the negotiations falter once again.
