We’ve been saying for weeks now that, regardless of how the Cowboys perform in the 2008 regular season, an enormous amount of pressure will bubble up if/when the Cowboys prepare for their first playoff game.
They haven’t won a postseason contest since beating the Vikings the night before my soon-to-be-12-year-old was baptized. (I took the Cowboys, gave the points, and doubled his college fund. Just kidding. It was our rainy-day fund.) And with high-profile quarterback Tony Romo being 0-2 in the playoffs and another loss or two away from developing a reputation as a guy who can’t win in January, the focus on the Cowboys as they play that first postseason game will be extreme.
It will now be even more intense, given that receiver Terrell Owens has questioned the team’s strategy in last year’s home loss to the Giants in the divisional round.
T.O. had a sprained ankle, but thinks he was 100 percent. He says that the coaching staff didn’t regard him as 100 percent, and as a result didn’t use him down the field.
“I feel I made the most of the opportunities,” Owens said. “It was just like when I played in the Super Bowl with the [Philadelphia] Eagles, I told the coach if I am on the football field to treat me as if I am 100 percent. I don’t think they [were] considering what I did in the game. . . . I felt like I could have done more.”
Owens caught four passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in the first half. He caught no passes in the second half of the 21-17 loss to the Giants.

Yesssssss!
It’s about time that T.O. starts acting like T.O.
Let’s see how Jerry “headcoach-wanna-be” Jones handles this one.

Talk about a non-story. Yawn.
Why not remove the facade and just post an article every day with the title “Cowboys haters comment here”. You’ll get just as many page views and the sponsors will love you for it.

The man speaks the truth. I have no problem with that. When Peyton Manning thre his O-Line under the bus after that playoff loss to the Pats, it was ok. Whats the difference?

Someone should tell T.O. in the “That’s my quarterback” voice:
That’s your offensive coordinator.

here’s a guy who really likes to run off at the mouth,
and blame everybody around but not himself.
i’ve personally seen him drop balls that were catchable.
these throws were critical to the outcome of the game.
in a giant game, the cowboys were on a game winning drive
and romo passes to owens,he’s wide open heading up field
and clank,right off his hands.
i’ve seen him do this two other times in other games,
he believes his press clippings.

Hasn’t this been the root of Owens’ problems on every team he has been on? He thinks he knows more than his coaches. They don’t know how to use him. The QB doesn’t know how to throw to him. The offensive coordinator shouldn’t “talk to him”. The man just doesn’t get he is a self-focused, me-first fool. The only up-side is that he is a tremendously talented wide receiver. If only he had emotional maturity greater than a 5 year old…..

Me thinks Florio should show a little more tact when writing about gambling even if the reference is an attempt at humour. As everyone here knows or at least believe given the popularity of the site, he has the reputation of having some of the best insider “scoops” around the league. Therefore, his jokes about making bets might sit a little uncomfortable with some.

Is that the best you Cowboy haters can do?
TO has been nothing but a team player since Parcells left. He loves his coaches, his quarterback, the owner and the entire Cowboys aura. TO thrives from the limelight of the highest profile franchise in the NFL.
I know it is hard to accept, but TO has matured the last couple of years. But go ahead and keep wishing for a TO implosion, because it’s not going to happen…..
And that’s the painful truth.

Yes, of course TO is gonna blow up. Everybody’s been saying it for over 2 years, so it’s obviously iminent. hahaha
Oh, and Tony Romo already has the rep of a guy that can’t win in January. Deserved or not, it’s there.
John Cittebart, if Jerry Jones wanted to be head coach, he’d be head coach. Duh.

You know, comments like this would be a concern if they were made 7 months ago, shortly after the game. But they weren’t, so they’re not. Could TO have done more? Maybe, but everybody including TO knows that the Cowboys lost that game because of the D. Specifically because Jacques Reeves can’t cover anybody. Check the play-by-play of the Giants final drive of the first half with 47 seconds to go.
1-10-NYG 29 (:47) (Shotgun) 10-E.Manning pass incomplete short right to 81-A.Toomer. Pass fell short at the NYG 41; Reeves closest.
2-10-NYG 29 (:42) (Shotgun) 10-E.Manning pass deep right to 12-S.Smith to DAL 49 for 22 yards (35-J.Reeves) [99-C.Canty]. Pass complete on fly pattern.
Timeout #2 by NYG at 00:34.
1-10-DAL 49 (:34) (Shotgun) 10-E.Manning pass short right to 12-S.Smith pushed ob at DAL 38 for 11 yards (35-J.Reeves). PENALTY on DAL-35-J.Reeves, Face Mask (15 Yards), 15 yards, enforced at DAL 38.
1-10-DAL 23 (:28) (Shotgun) 10-E.Manning pass incomplete deep middle to 17-P.Burress. Pass incomplete on a post pattern in the back of the end zone.
2-10-DAL 23 (:21) (Shotgun) 10-E.Manning pass incomplete short middle (99-C.Canty). Canty knocked down the pass at the line of scrimmage.
3-10-DAL 23 (:17) (Shotgun) 10-E.Manning pass short right to 89-K.Boss to DAL 4 for 19 yards (35-J.Reeves).
1-4-DAL 4 (:11) (Shotgun) 10-E.Manning pass short middle to 81-A.Toomer for 4 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
9-L.Tynes extra point is GOOD, Center-93-J.Alford, Holder-18-J.Feagles.
