Semi-finalists for Hermann Trophy list are...

Late this week the list for the Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy came out, and while there are no Tar Heels on it, the ACC is pretty well represented with six nominations (in all there are 48 nominees). Considered to be the Heisman Trophy for Men's Soccer, the Hermann Trophy is given to the top player in Division I. The recipients of the Hermann Trophy are selected by Division I head coaches who are current members of the NSCAA.

The list will be cut down to 15 semifinalists in November, and then three finalists will be selected in early December. The winner will be announced on January 9^th, 2009 in St. Louis, Mo. This year three teams have three players that are on the list, unfortunately for the Heels one of those teams is top ranked Wake Forest. The other two are Connecticut, who has last year's award winner, O’Brian White, and Saint Louis.
