Fantasy Football Mock Draft Recap: Rounds 10 - 12 Results

The double digit rounds may not yield the sexiest names of your fantasy football draft, but they can yield the difference makers. Everyone gets talent in the early rounds; to snag it this late gives you a leg up on your competition, so let's see who the experts are taking gambles on.

Let's check out to see how Rounds 10-12 played out in the Fantasy Sports Matrix draft which was hosted by Yahoo Sports and took place on August 13th, 2008. The scoring system is "standard" scoring and each team starts 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF.

2008 Fantasy Sports Matrix Draft - Round 10 Results

10.1: Geoff-MDC: Chris Perry (Cin)
10.2: Rotohog Ballers: Jacksonville Jaguars
10.3: FantasySportsMatrix: Kenny Watson (Cin)
10.4: Team Yardbarker: Reggie Brown (Phi)
10.5: Bobby's Bluechips: Donte Stallworth (Cle)
10.6: Kontend: Chicago Bears
10.7: FantasyFootballFools: David Garrard (Jax)
10.8: FIO's Matty H.: Andre Hall (Den)
10.9: RotoWire-Phan: Matt Schaub (Hou)
10.10: RotoNation: Marc Bulger (StL)

10.11: Bruno Boys Fantasy Football: Jake Delhomme (Car)

10.12: Sports Data Hub: Deuce McAllister (NO)
-------------------

Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Pick: With the 119th selection, the Bruno Boys hope for a bounce back year from quarterback, Jake Delhomme.

Bargains: RB Chris Perry. While Rudi Johnson went a full four rounds before Perry, it's Perry that currently sits atop the Bengals depth chart and has the greatest fantasy upside of the Bengals' backs right now. QB David Garrard. How can you not like getting a guy who threw for 18 TDs to only 3 Ints in round 10? QB Marc Bulger. Heading into 2007, Bulger was a top 5 fantasy quarterback, but a season derailed by injuries to many key players on the Rams' offense, including Bulger himself, has caused a huge drop in 2008 drafts. Landing him in round 10 is a steal.

Even Money: D/STs Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears. With the Chargers, Patriots, and Vikings all off the board, the Jags and Bears are the next best defenses available. RBs Kenny Watson and Andre Hall. Both are back-ups on their respective teams, but you're not going to be finding starting RBs in round 10, and these two have as much value as any back-ups out there. WRs Reggie Brown and Donte Stallworth. Two guys that have failed to live up to their potential, but at least there's potential there. QB Jake Delhomme. Coming off of Tommy John, Delhomme's arm is a question mark, but he has more weapons than ever before, balancing out the risk. QB Matt Schaub. Schaub has a good deal of weapons in Houston in the likes of Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels, and Kevin Walter and if he can stay healthy could play above his average draft position.

Overpaid: RB Deuce McAllister. While you have to feel for McAllister, once a fantasy stud only to see his career be stricken by injury after injury, it doesn't mean you have to take him in your drafts. Yes, we know the pickings are now slim at the running back position, but you don't even have to stray from Deuce's team to find a back with just a little more upside. We're talking about Pierre Thomas.

2008 Fantasy Sports Matrix Draft - Round 11 Results

11.1: Sports Data Hub: Jon Kitna (Det)

11.2: Bruno Boys Fantasy Football: Todd Heap (Bal)

11.3: RotoNation: Heath Miller (Pit)
11.4: Rotowire-Phan: Philip Rivers (SD)
11.5: FIO's Matty H: Jeff Garcia (TB)
11.6: FantasyFootballFools: Owen Daniels (Hou)
11.7: Kontend: Vincent Jackson (SD)
11.8: Bobby's Bluechips: Dominic Rhodes (Ind)
11.9: Team Yardbarker: Aaron Rodgers (GB)
11.10: FantasySportsMatrix: Dallas Cowboys
11.11: Rotohog Ballers: Matt Leinart (Hou)
11.12: Geoff-MDC: Tony Scheffler (Den)
-------------------

Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Pick: The Bruno Boys add tight end, Todd Heap, to their roster with the 122nd overall selection.

Bargains: TE Todd Heap. No, we're not tooting our own horn, but Heap is a nice grab in the 11th round. Yes, we know about the injury concerns and the fact that the Ravens are in trouble at the quarterback position, but Heap when on the field still has the skills to be a top fantasy tight end and will be looked at often by the Ravens' quarterbacks as they look to dump the ball off. TEs Heath Miller, Owen Daniels, and Tony Scheffler. With only 5 tight ends selected before this round, there's still a good deal of talent available at this newly deep position.

Even Money: D/ST Dallas Cowboys. The defenses are going pretty much according to plan. QBs Jon Kitna and Philip Rivers. Without Mike Martz in town, Kitna's value takes a hit, but Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson should still allow him to remain a QB2. Rivers, meanwhile, is coming off of a knee surgery, so a slow start to the 2008 season is to be expected. Still, he should get things going by the second half to be a solid QB2. WR Vincent Jackson. With Antonio Gates, Chris Chambers, and of course, LT, Jackson is the 4th option in San Diego, but while that means less opportunities than before, it also means less defensive attention. RB Dominic Rhodes. While Joseph Addai is by far the main man in Indy, Tony Dungy has liked what he's seen from Rhodes upon his return. He won't get as many carries as before when he split time with Addai, but he's not a bad gamble this late in the draft.

Overpaid: QBs Jeff Garcia and Aaron Rodgers. Garcia's main job is to manage games and not make mistakes, that usually doesn't translate into a whole lot of fantasy points. Rodgers is a huge question mark as he gets his first real chance in the NFL. We'd rather have had Jason Campbell than either of these two arms. QB Matt Leinart. At the time of the draft, this pick might have warranted "bargain" status with Leinart having Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin to throw to, but a dismal pre-season has delegated Leinart to clipboard duties once again.

2008 Fantasy Sports Matrix Draft - Round 12 Results

12.1: Geoff-MDC: Pierre Thomas (NO)
12.2: Rotohog Ballers: Jabar Gaffney (NE)
12.3: FantasySportsMatrix: Alge Crumpler (Ten)
12.4: Team Yardbarker: New York Giants
12.5: Bobby's Bluechips: Seattle Seahawks
12.6: Kontend: Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG)
12.7: FantasyFootballFools: Isaac Bruce (SF)
12.8: FIO's Matty H.: Ben Watson (NE)
12.9: RotoWire-Phan: Green Bay Packers
12.10: RotoNation: DJ Hackett (Car)

12.11: Bruno Boys Fantasy Football: Jerious Norwood (Atl)

12.12: Sports Data Hub: Arizona Cardinals
-------------------

Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Pick: With the 143rd selection, the Bruno Boys nab Atlanta Falcons running back, Jerious Norwood.

Bargains: TEs Alge Crumpler and Ben Watson. Just another example of how deep this position has become. RB Ahmad Bradshaw. Taking full advantage of the opportunities that were given to him, Bradshaw has played himself into a bit of a time share with Brandon Jacobs as he'll be used as a change pf pace back and in the passing game. RB Jerious Norwood. Yes, Michael Turner has come to town, but Norwood is a back that's averaged over 6.0 yards per carry in his career. The Falcons say they'll use Norwood more than before, lining him up at wide out in addition to tail back.

Even Money: RB Pierre Thomas. We'd feel better about this pick if Deuce still wasn't in the mix, but even so, Pierre seems to have the inside track to being the Saints second best back. WRs Jabar Gaffney, Isaac Bruce, and DJ Hackett. Not exciting picks, but should be decent enough to use as bye week fill-ins. D/STs New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks, and Green Bay Packers. All solid defensive squads. They may not be every week plays, but they are the better group of match-up plays.

Overpaid: D/ST Arizona Cardinals. An interesting selection with the likes of the Steelers, Bucs, Colts, etc. still on the board.
