Here are some waiver wire and sleeper picks that I didn’t see on the Bruno Boys week seven waiver wire report. I play in some deeper leagues so I need to look a little deeper than most. Some of these guys could help you out now or just provide you with some depth and/or upside on your bench. Check them out:
May be available now…
**UPDATE** Micheal Bennett RB (TB) - Micheal Bennett was traded from the Chiefs to the Tampa Bay Bucs yesterday. He should be an immediate upgrade over anyone on their roster. He would be worth a roster spot. Go grab him now.
D.J. Hackett WR (SEA) - He will return to practice this week and may play this weekend against the Rams. There were big hopes for this guy before the beginning of the season but his injury slowed him down. I just bet he might be laying around and forgotten in your league.
Kevin Faulk RB (NE) - Maroney is probably pretty close to returning but even if his does return, and Morris misses any time Faulk would have some value on this seemingly unstoppable attack.
Tim Rattay QB (ARI) -Depending on what happens with Warner’s elbow injury Rattay has some value with that offense. He didn’t play great but he only had a few days to learn the system and get acquainted with his receivers.
Donald Lee TE (GB) - He’s in a pass happy offense and his value just went up with an injury to Bubba Franks. Keep an eye on Bubbas status and remember the Pack are on a bye this week.
Reggie Williams WR (JAC) - 5 for 38 and a TD isn’t bad for a guy left for dead. Keep an eye on him because Jacksonville’s passing game seems to be slowly coming around.
Kyle Boller QB (BAL) - I heard a blurb on one of the pre-games shows that McNair may miss week seven as well. Even though he wasn’t great against a bad Rams defense, Boller is starting quarterback on decent team so he is worth a look in deeper two QB starter leagues or maybe even as a bye week replacement. Note that he plays Buffalo this week.
David Patten WR (NO) - 8 for 113 against the Seahawk Sunday night. If the Saints are back perhaps Mr. Patten will continue putting up numbers like this.
Donte’ Stallworth WR (NE) - Is there a chance that an owner or two forgot about him with the success of the other receivers? Maybe, maybe not. Might want to check just in case.
Keep an eye on…
Chris Perry RB (CIN) - The Bengals are turning into a train wreck but Perry is eligible to come of the PUP list this week. If he looks decent in practice he could be worth something down the stretch in PPR or deep leagues.
Also, I mentioned it earlier but if you missed it check out the Bruno Boys week six waiver wire report because it lists some of the more obvious picks that I didn’t feel the need to list twice.
As always I will be updating throughout the week if anyone jumps out at me. Also, I know many of you see things I don’t, feel free to throw down some of your thoughts below in the comments. Happy hunting!

2Thanks for the comment Joyrex,
Glad I could help. Remember I said “may play.” Just to be safe, keep an eye on his situation.

4Thanks for the heads up Chris,
Wow! How will the Patriots be able to overcome such a huge loss. Kidding of course. lol. Something tells me they will manage.

5Hi Goat,
Any chance you’ve got any sleeper D/STs that you’d recommend I pick up this week to fill in for my normal D/ST on bye? The options are pretty limited in my league; a few that I could get include: Cardinals, Tampa Bay, Saints, Texans, and a whole slew of other mediocre teams - wait, mediocre at best…more like really awful. Thoughts?

6Hi FFLibrarian,
I would probably take Tampa out of that group. Not only are they a respectable 12th in total defense but consider their competition. Detroit “may” put up some points on them but they do give up sacks (28 this year the most in the league). I call that big play potential.

7Totally agree with the Tampa Def call…exactly what I did this week. Kitna can’t escape the rush to save his life!

9Who would be a good pickup at running back for week 7?

10Good question Joe,
Thanks for stopping by. Two questions:
1) Who is available in your league, or on your roster, right now?
2) What sort of point system do you have?
I am sure I can recommend someone.
Off the top of my head though I would check on the status of Kevin Faulk of the Patriots or maybe even Eckel. There is more and more doubt coming out of Patriots camp concerning whether Maroney will be able to go. Keep an eye on that situation because you would have a solid back. Davenport from Pitt may be a decent play against Denvers horrible run defense. But again it depends who is laying around on your waiver wire and whether or not you have points per reception.

11i have head to head point system and i have Faulk im thinking about Davenport hes the best on the waiver wire as of right now and it isnt points per reception you have to get like at least 5 yards for a point. I have Ruben Droughns, Joseph Addai, and Kevin Faulk. one more question should i play Kitna or Hasselback

12Hey Joe,
Faulk is a good pick-up if Maroney doesn’t play tomorrow. Watch that.
If Maroney plays Davenport should be good against Denver tomorrow. Denver is horrible against the run and besides, Davenport will likely get the goalline work.

14aslo i would like to know if Davenport has been made the goal line back and if Ruben Droughns is a better starter then Davenport if Ward or Jacobs need attention

15Drew Brees is back and Lance Moore will be his target against a weak Atlanta defense. Chester Taylor will still get the ball… his contract is way too high.

16Thanks for the comment Polska,
Having Polish roots I can appreciate the name. lol
Interesting insight, thanks for sharing. I’ll be watching for Moore. As far as Chester i agree with you on that. Chilly (Childress) seems intent on making sure he does (even when the game was on the line against Green Bay which made fans in MN frustrated).
Thanks again,
Corey

17Joe,
Hasselbeck has a better match-up but they will look to run. Martz seems to live and die with the pass and they have the better recieving corp. Go with Kitna.
As far as Davenport being the goalline back, I don’t know foresure. There wasn’t an official announcement. I just notice that he has two more td’s than wille on a lot less carries.
I think that Davenport has a better match-up than Droughns.
