There is an sense of excitement that comes this time of year with the first real games of the football season. Says InGameNow user echinsuocha1, “I haven’t been this happy in a while. If you don’t live college football you are a terrorist.” While this may have gone a little too far, the implied sentiment is engrained in all American hearts - FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!
Now let’s hear the users picks:
milehighsalute - Northeastern at Ball State - I will have to take the Cardinals here behind Nate Davis at quarterback. This is Nate’s 3rd year starting, and besides, it is easy picking the team with the winning record last year!

amanda31 - North Carolina State vs. South Carolina - I pick South Carolina. Holding strong to the SEC and expecting Tommy Beecher to turn some heads as he enters his Junior year. Also, an All-SEC pick from 2006, Jasper Brinkley is returning this season after missing 8 games in 2007 from knee surgery.

steelydaniel - Wake Forest at Baylor - The Big 12 version of Duke will keep Wake Forest slightly off their game. Baylor keeps it close and loses by less than 4 touchdowns.

oflarity - Charleston Southern at Miami (FL) - I don’t see an Appalachian State-like upset happening here. The Buccaneers of Charleston Southern went just 5-6 in 2007 against a weak schedule. Sure, they put up a fight against Colt Brennan and Hawaiii…if you consider losing 66-10 putting up a fight! Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are ready to put a disappointing 2007 season behind them where they went just 7-6. Vegas isn’t even accepting bests on this one - ’nuff said!

athletics68 - Oregon State at Stanford - I’ll go with Oregon State over Stanford. Seems like a no brainer to me with O State’s strengths and the fact Stanford, while improved, is still a bottom half team!

chudaddio - Troy at Middle Tennessee - The Troy Trojans lost 2-time Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year Omar Haugabook to graduation, and none of the 3 replacements look ready to replace him. Middle Tennessee won 5 of its last 6 games last year and will ride that wave into the season opener - Middle Tennessee 35-24

Voice your opinion, follow the picks, and maybe even get your own pick posted here. Did I mention that one of users that chooses a win, will get to rub it in the face of the losers for the day? It’s all fun and games, but trash-talking is appreciated at InGameNow!
