- From now on, striking out, hitting a homer and making an error in the same game will be known as a "Howard," and will be kept as an official WSBGM's statistic next year.
- Omar Minaya got a 4 year extension this week, which is great news for the Phillies. Hopefully he'll keep bringing in chumps and choke-artists. Four more years! Four more years!
- Magic number is 1 for the NL East. A Phils win or a Mets loss this weekend and it's a second title in two years for Philadelphia. It's Moyer v. Lannan today at 4:00, national TV from FOX. Get ready to celebrate. I have a case of Andre champagne in the fridge and I've covered my basement in plastic...

Wish I could be there for that..
I've made fun of Charlie Manuel a lot over the past 3 years (not so much this season), but he's even starting to win me over. I was chanting- "Charlie, Charlie, Charlie" when he went out to argue the phantom foul tip in the 9th and got tossed. He's no genius with strategy, but he's a good guy, and some times good guys make decent enough managers I suppose.

When the Mets miss the playoffs, there will be a major yardsale of players next season. How nice would it be to pick up Wright for a toaster and a fondue set to be named later.
A peek at the MLB stats shows Ryan Howard leads all 1st baseman in errors and has the lowest fielding %. But he also has the most homeruns and rbi.
The Top 4 teams in the NL in era are 1. Dodger- 3.69, 2. Brewers- 3.86, 3. Cubs 3.88, and 4. Phillies- 3.89. It's no coincidence that they'll likely represent the NL in the playoffs this season.

I hope to see Happ pitching tommorow as Hamels rests to start the playoffs for the Phils.
