The Bears offense has been struggling on offense only in the respect that it took them nearly two quarters before they finally scored.  The Bears hold a commanding lead going into the half 21-0 - with all teams contributing.

The Bears started their scoring with a blocked punt by Mychal Kendricks that was returned by Bryant Nnabuife for 30-yards and a touchdown.  The blocked punt occurred after 10-minutes had already passed in the first quarter and while the offense continued to sputter.

Only 50-seconds later, the Bears would score again on an interception by Brett Johnson.  After the Rams had just rushed for 16-yards to start the drive, Colorado quarterback, Billy Farris, dropped back and passed to the left side of the field where Johnson jumped in front of the would-be reception and took it 43-yards for the score.

With only 1:12 left in the half, the Bears offense finally did some scoreboard damage.  On first and ten at the Rams 11-yard line, Kevin Riley dropped back to pass and tossed to his right to a slanting Nyan Boateng for the touchdown score.

Jeff Tedford was visually upset earlier in the half when Sean Young dropped a long-ball in the end zone.  At the half, he also alluded to his disappointment in the offense thus far.  The Bears will try and hang on.  Look for plenty of zone on defense and a hefty serving of Jahvid Best and Shane Vereen on offense.

Bears could be in for a dogfight against the Aggies

At first glance, this game between a Pac-10 also-ran and a MEAC also-ran doesn't seem to be that difficult a contest.  The MEAC is nothing more than a mid-major conference and doesn't get the type of talent that even an also-ran from the Pac-10... Read More
