Vince Carter vs. The Critics
Posted by: Darjan Milojkovic In: Miami Heat| New Jersey Nets
Vince Carter has served as one of the main offensive threats in New Jersey ever since he got traded away from Canada. Now, the New Jersey organization will look to place a little bit more responsibility on his shoulders.
After Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson were traded to Dallas and Milwaukee respectively, Carter was left as the sole veteran on the team. However, as a leader, as well as, the main go-to guy on offense, many critics began to question Carter’s durability. Unfortunately, for Vince, he lost the first battle against the people who doubt his half-amazing abilities.
During the Nets’ preseason game against the Miami Heat last night in Paris, Carter strained his left hamstring while scoring on a runner in the second period. The severity of the injury has not yet been determined but at the end of the game, Nets coach, Lawrence Frank, tried to reduce any concerns over loosing his only proven scorer.
“I think it’s just a little strained hamstring, we’ll know more (today),” the coach said an hour after the game via conference call. “We’ll take it day by day.”
