Six pre season games were played last night in the NBA, and so "The Fifth Corner" is back to check if any Tar Heels took the floor in any of the games. In one of the games there was the Wizards playing, home to both Antawn Jamison and Brandan Haywood, but both are out right now. Jamison for a couple of weeks and Haywood for the season. Remember to check out the TruthAboutIt web site for any information regarding the Washington Wizarsds.
In a game that did have an ex Heel, we have the defending champions Celtics going against the Cavaliers. In that game, for the Cleveland squad, Jawad Williams suited up, and played some decent minutes (28:31) and made the most of them, scoring 13 points (on 6 for 10 shooting ~ 1-2 from 3 points range), while getting 5 rebounds and dishing out three assists. On the Yahoo page Williams was named Top Performer for the Cavs. Unfortunately Williams' efforts weren't enough as his team went down 90 to 86. Remember to check out the And One web site for any information regarding the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Detroit Pistons were also in action last night, meaning that ex Heel big man Rasheed Wallace was playing. They squared off against the San Antonio Spurs, and Wallace didn't have the best of nights. In 24 minutes of play he scored 2 points, on 2 free throws, going 0 for 7 in the field (0 for 2 from long range). Wallace had 3 boards and 1 assist on the night as well. In all it was a bad game for most of the Pistons as they are trounced by the Spurs 86 to 64.
The last game that has an ex Heel in it is the one that has Minnesota and Chicago matching up. In it, for the Timberwolves, we find Rashad McCants getting about 231/2 minutes in the game. While he did score 12 points, he didn't have a great night shooting, going 4 for 15 from the floor (0 for 4 from behind the arch). He did have 4 rebounds and 1 assist as well. His team did however win the contest, beating the Bulls by the score of 96 to 86.
