Wild contemplating more roster changes

After losing nine of their last 13 games the Minnesota Wild are looking to shake up their roster, reports Michael Russo of the Minnesota Star Tribune.

The first move came when the Wild picked-up enforcer Todd Fedoruk off re-entry waivers from the Dallas Stars.

Wild assistant GM Tom Lynn warned that other moves may follow if players can’t improve their play.

“The general manager [Doug Risebrough] is not happy where we are right now, so he’s made this move,” Lynn said. “Some guys will have to step up or there will be other moves.”

With only one (empty-net) goal and soft play thus far in the season, Russo suggests that forward Branko Radivojevic is in “jeopardy” of becoming trade bait.

Radivojevic admitted, “I have to be better, for sure. It’s a business. I would love to stay here, but I can’t think about whether I stay here or not. I’ve got to play, that’s all.”

Things will get even more interesting for the Wild when injured forwards Pavol Demitra and Mikko Koivu return to action, leaving the club with too many players.

And then there’s Aaron Voros. Currently in the line-up because of an injury to forward/defenseman Petteri Nummelin, Voros is expected to stick with the big club long-term.

“[Voros] is probably going to take somebody’s job,” Lynn said. “There are some guys at risk. He’s not going to take Marian [Gaborik's] job. It’s other guys.”
