…I am…
No I haven’t quit on this blog. I’ve just been busy writing for the ESPN columnist (oops, did I just let it slip that ESPN “columnists” don’t actually write their own articles?) and searching for a Wii. By the way, if anyone knows how or where I can get a Wii, please email me and let me know. Free allthingshoops t-shirt for anyone that helps me land one of those.
On to hoops…
Sideshow Bob, Anderson Varejao , was also back in a Cavs uniform last night, and I must admit, Sideshow Bob was impressive. Andy was everywhere with offensive rebounds and put backs, and his hair is still LOUD. I think signing him for the mid-level exception was a steal for the Cavs.
Oh yeah, and that other guy on the team, Lebron James, was also back in action last night. Lebron even went with the throwback, one glove, MJ look. It’s too bad he only did the Soluja Boy dance last night and not the moon walk. The Cavs ended their losing streak, much like MJ ended his children loving ways (at least we hope).
Onto serious news, T.J Ford suffered a serious injury last night after a flagrant foul by Al Horford. It was scary watching Ford lay motionlessly on the floor. All the prayers go out to Ford and his family. I hope the injury is not too serious and Mighty Mouse returns to action soon. “Mighty Mouse” is my new nickname for TJ until little Earl Boykins returns to the league. You heard it here first.
It’s been a slow week for NBA news, and, no J-Kidd is not going anywhere….yet. The Nets can’t afford to blow up the team just yet, not after giving Vince a huge extension. Although I do think it’s time the Nets move Kidd, J-Kidd doesn’t look happy in NJ anymore, but he won’t come out and demand a trade. It’s important for the Nets to do the right thing here and trade him to a contender, especially since Kidd has always been a professional on and off the court.
Jamal Tinsley was involved in another shooting…AGAIN. Tinsley had everyone in Indiana fooled. The whole time we thought Stephon Jackson is the thug, but Tinsley is actually the real hoodlum. Stephon Jackson and Jamal Tinsley careers kind of parallel that of Britney and Christina. Remember after the “Dirrrty” video, everyone was predicting Skinmax for Christina’s next move? Well now, Aguilera still has a career, and Britney is one bag of cheetos away from doing Debbie Does Dallas 2008. Same thing happen with Jackson and Tinsley. Jackson, along with Baron Davis, will lead the Warriors deep into the playoffs this year, and Tinsley have 1 more season left before he ends up like Sean Taylor or Michael Vick. I am accepting wagers right now. Over/Under 1 year before Tinsley is involved in another shooting or strip club incident.
Ohhh how I love this game!! or Is it where the amazing happens? Yeah, where spoiled athletes do amazingly stupid things off the court.
