Blues Trade Weight to Ducks for Macdonald

I have just received a tip that the Ducks have made a trade the involves the St.Louis Blues

The Blues have agreed to trade Doug Weight to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for who is believed to be Andy Macdonald (Center). Selanne will be back 100% my source has added.

More details to follow.

EDIT: “We’re excited to add a top caliber forward to our hockey team,” said Davidson. “Doug is a true professional and we would like to thank him and his wife Allison for the time and dedication they have provided to the St. Louis Blues.”

This deal will see Macdonald going to the blues in exchange for Michal Birner, 7th in '08.

This deal works because they needed to clear cap space next year for Nieds, not this year. McDonald is going to earn 3.333M next year where as Weight is going to be a UFA.
