This Week is Make-or-Break Time for the BYU Cougars
Two weeks off, two weeks on…that’s how it has seemed to go for the Cougars this football season.
Two average games to start the season, two mind-blowing shutouts after that, and two head-scratching snoozefests after that.
But with games remaining at TCU, at Air Force, and at Utah, BYU can ill-afford to continue to play inconsistent football.

Notes/Review of Appalachian State vs. Delaware — FCS Championship Game
*Halftime*
I feel like Delaware’s play calling has really hurt them a lot thus far. They didn’t get a TD from the 1 yard line. They had a drive fizzle because they went away from the run. And the last play of the half was a huge mess. 8 seconds gets you a quick out and another play (field goal or long pass).
Armanti Edwards is a stud. Who throws 60 yard TD passes on the run? Absolutely sick…
I don’t see Delaware making up a 28-7 deficit. The Mountaineer offense is way too good.
I’m not sure why they’re not getting the ball in Omar Cuff’s hands more. He’s your star back. He’ll get you places.
*3rd Quarter*
Delaware’s still throwing the ball…
I’m not quite sure what ASU RB Kevin Richardson’s TD celebration actually was. Taunting, I guess? If you’re going to get a flag for something you do after a touchdown, at least make it entertaining. That was just dumb. Taunting penalties are just stupid.
Appalachian State’s offense is just too good. Honestly, did anybody expect Delaware to pull this off?
*4th Quarter*
Wow… even the back up QB for Appalachian State got a TD run.
Wow… kick-off return for a touchdown by Delaware with 3 minutes to go.
And he throws the ball at the Mountaineer fans and hits the police man! What in the world was that guy thinking!?
This is nuts… there are fans 15 feet deep on the sidelines! And they’ve got a foot or two on the football field! Wow… what a place.
Coach Keeler’s telling his guys to shake hands and get out of there! Don’t blame him. If I were a Delaware player or coach, I wouldn’t want any part of these crazy fans. That’s how fights start.
*Final* 49-21 Appalachian State wins
Sweet justice… I’m not sure I’ve seen so many fans rush on to the field… not even in the FBS, let alone any other smaller division.
Review? After the Blue Hens scored to cut the lead to 21-7 with the half winding down, they had a glimmer of hope despite the previous opportunities they had in the game. The problem? Armanti Edwards hooked up with Dexter Jackson soon thereafter for a 60 yard TD pass. After that, the game was done.
There’s really not much else to say. In my opinion, Omar Cuff could have gotten even more than the 21 carries than he got. Blue Hen QB Joe Flacco did pass for 336 yards, but he only hit on 23/48 passes. A lot of that has to do with the effective pass rush of the Mountaineers. Flacco spent a lot of time dodging and fleeing.
End result — 3rd straight title for Appalachian State.
