A 3rd-String Safety Against the Best Offense in History? What Could Go Wrong?
With Quintin Mikell joining Donovan McNabb in the "Out" house today, J.R. Reed will start opposite Brian Dawkins at safety. You, me, our fathers, and their fathers have never seen a better passing team than the 2007 Patriots, so this could get ugly. On top of that, Reed will probably be returning kickoffs today, and the Pats are pretty good at setting themselves up for a lot of those. To say Reed's going to be tested today is an understatement.
I'm off to the airport for all the fun events they have planned for The Busiest Travel Day of the Year. Go Birds.

What's your prediction for this game?
"My prediction? ... PAIN."
This is gonna hurt. They're gonna pass all day. And pummel Feeley all day. And score about 100 points. And then to really drive the point home, they'll nuke the Eagles from orbit.
(It's the only way to be sure.)

I'm an optimist, I think the Birds will win every week... but the most optimistic I can be this week is that the Pats won't cover.

I just have a pure hatred for J.R. Reed and hope the Pats target him and preferably score on him every time. Having him on this team is a disgrace and the Eagles deserve to be embarrassed for shuttling out such garbage time and time again. By starting Reed they deserve to lose, end of story.

I PREDICT AN UPSET (many, many upset Eagles fans that is!)

Hey EC:
How about a post addressing ESPN's report that Testaverde likely won't be in NE's lineup? I mean, that's as huge as no Donovan, right? Right?

PhilsPhan: Testaverde plays for the NC Panthers.
I hope the Eagles cover. I got a nice line early last week.

Of course he won't. He's not NE's backup.
Apparently I never paid attention to the fact that he was released in September, nor that he signed with Carolina.

Testaverde isn't in Tampa Bays lineup either from what I hear.

Reed played great. He deserves to be re-signed for next year after this game.

I loved some of the hits Reed landed. He was pumped and used that energy well. He was clearly one of the players that stood out.
