I know this is a little late, but I’ve been meaning to write a column on it.  So here it is..

I am a little shocked that Garnett is leading Lebron in the forward spot.  Based on popularity, I would think Lebron has the edge.  I mean this is the man that wants to dominate the world in terms of marketing.  I know it’s early, but I guarantee you Lebron’s team is not too happy about the early results, especially since they are anticipating Lebron to become a global icon by the Summer Olympics.  If you don’t believe me, go check out July’s Slam; it has Lebron on the cover with 8/8/08 (the first day of the Bejing Olympics).

My boy, Yi Jianlian, is fifth after KG, Lebron, Bosh and Pierce.  1 billion people in China, and they can’t get Yi into the starting line up.  What’s up with that?

Vince Carter IS NOT LEADING the guards ballot??  I think the fans have finally realized that Vinsanity is slightly overrated.  Vince has not had too many crazy/spectular 360, hanging in the air, dunks/layups so far, and the fans are letting him know they are not happy.

Speaking of guys that get off ridiculous circus shots, Wade still leads all guards.

Where is Hibaccccchhhhi?? Remember how excited Arenas was when AI got traded because he thought AI’s absence from the East Ballot means he will start the All Star game for years to come, well not so fast.  Agent Zero couldn’t even crack the top 4, to make matters worse, he is behind Ray Allen in votes.  This guy publically campaigns for votes, and he still can’t get in the top 3.  I think the fans are tired of his outspoken ways, or maybe they are just mad he keeps beating them in Halo.  Since Gilbert is not playing any ball, maybe he needs to hit the campaign trial to get more votes.

Onto the West Ballot..

Melo is leading at the forwards spot! This is the guy that made the team last year as a subsitute, and now he is #1 vote getter at the forward spot, ahead of Duncan and Dirk.  Personally, I would love to see Carmelo start at the forward spot.  KG and Duncan have dominated the forward spot for too many years.  I am ready for a change.

Kobe Bryant is leading all players in the West, even Yao Ming.  The fans love Kobe.  Everytime I am at the gym, guys are talking about Kobe.  I don’t get it though.  I love Kobe as a player, but I question his character.  Furthermore, he hasn’t done much to wow me on the court this season.  My vote goes to Nash and AI, unless Kobe goes on a 50pt streak again.

While we are on the Western Conference guards, where is Deron Williams?  I mean this guy has broken some ankles this year with some spectular cross overs, and he is putting up big numbers for the Jazz.  But he couldn’t even crack the top 10 in votes??  I am guessing voters are turned off by his goofy looks.  Seriously, Deron looks like pillsbury dough boy.  I know D. Will is not fat, but he looks fat.  I guarantee you if he was a little skinner, he would get more votes.  He is like the half white/spanish version of Antoine Walker.

What else is new, Yao is leading at the center spot.  Although unlike previous years, he is not the overall top vote getter.  I am guessing all the woman in China are heart- broken now that he is married.  There goes their chance at a green card……I kidd I kidd…

Vote for Yi.  Win a Wii!!
