Before we get to the Pro Bowl squad, lets look at the snubs.

1. How in the hell did Troy Polamalu make the Pro Bowl? He hasn’t done much of anything this year due to injuries.
Should give his spot to:Sean Jones

2. Fred Taylor is having a great season, moving over 10,000 yards and still didn’t make it. He’s cursed. Also Jamal Lewis is a lock for Comeback Player Of The Year, snubbed big time.
Should get the spot instead of:Joseph Addai

3. Derek Anderson… just given the fact that he’s leading the CLEVELAND BROWNS to the playoffs is enough. He’s played great ball most of the year.
Should get the spot instead of:Big Ben

4. Kellen Winslow.. sensing a theme here with the Browns? Maybe they’ll get some spots next year.
Should get the spot instead of: Tony Gonzalez

5. Nnamdi Asomugha … yeah the Raiders suck, but he’s been playing lights out for most of the year. Opposing quarterbacks don’t often throw his way.
Should get the spot instead of:Champ Bailey, he’s been disappointing this year.

6. Michael Boley… 107 tackles, 3 sacks… but he plays for the Falcons so I understand how he was overlooked.
Should get the spot instead of: Lance Briggs. who has had a pretty good season, but appears to have made it off of his recognition more so than his performance.

As a Ravens fan, I’m a little embarassed Ogden made it.

No Jaguars and no Bucs- two playoff teams. Yet Miami sends a player, and a dead man makes it. This is worse than the BCS.

LOL.. you have a point about the Jags and Bucs. Taylor or Drew deserved a spot. Hell… i wouldnt have even been mad if David Garrard made it, he’s only thrown 2 interceptions all season long.

I can’t be mad at Sean Taylor though, he led the league in INT’s at the time of his death, so he most likely would have made it if the accident hadn’t happened.

Glaring omission. Nick Barnett, MLB for the Packers. He’s having a better year than Willis, Briggs, or Boley.

No NFC South team had a player to make it…the whole division blows.

Where’s Marques Colston and his 87 receptions, 1092 yards, and 9 touchdowns in all this? Torry Holt, and Donald Driver?. . . No disrespect to those guys, but I thought this was 2007, not 2001.

I agree with BMW, where’s Colston? Kellen Winslow? Wow. Great post.

EJ Henderson obviously should have made it

For Patsblow…”Kyle Vanden Bosch wtf?”…you obviously have never seen a Titans game.

Yeh, Troy Palomalu is Bullshit, Fred Taylor or Jamal Lewis over Willie Parker (but Willie is injured so one might make it), Ogden, Troy P, Driver, Holt, Briggs, R Lewis is a bunch of name recognition BS. Even though Tony G and Winslow had similar numbers…I woulda picked Winslow cuz his team is winning.

  12. comment number 12 by: PHX_JDNo Gravatar

Troy and Ben not good enough, but Anderson and Winslow are? LOL

Palomalu is still recovering from his injury, so perhaps he “hasn’t done anything” since then - but hardly fair to say “all season.”

And have you even looked at Big Ben’s numbers this year?

Other than that, how are things in Cleveland?

BTW - one of the big snubs you didn’t mention is Hines Ward - the most unselfish receiver in the NFL.

You can’t seriously think Polamalu earned a pro bowl spot can you? Have you seen his stats this year? No interceptions, no sacks, only 58 tackles through 11 games.

You can find handfuls of defensive backs with equal or better numbers than that. Polamalu earned his spot through name recognition.

Roethlisberger had a great season, but I gave the nod to anderson because of his overall play, and lifting a crappy team to a possible playoff spot. You can’t pop up the week AFTER Anderson has his worst game of the season and erase all the good he’s done.

Where’s Nick Barnett? He had 131 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 2 picks. He deserved a spot.

And same for Charles Woodson, CB for Green Bay, who, through 14 games, had 63 tackles and 4 int, 1 returned for a TD. He should have gone over Al Harris, who only had 37 tackles and 2 int.

  15. comment number 15 by: AdminNo Gravatar

You’re right about Barnett, but who should lose their spot for him?
