Flyers trade Eager to Blackhawks

After wondering why Eager was scratched from tonights game the Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenseman Jim Vandermeer from the Chicago Blackhawks and going the other way to the Blackhawks is Ben Eager.

 EDIT: Chicago will save money in the deal. Eager has two years and US$1.2 million remaining on his contract, while Vandermeer will earn $1.225 million this season. He's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

    He’s been a scratch a couple times recently. I think we have to assume that after having it handed to him a few games ago by much older Gary Roberts, he could no longer show his face in town.
