Darrion Scott Cited for Marijuana Possession

Boy, oh boy, aren't we lucky.

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Darrion Scott has been cited for misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Scott also was cited for failure to signal after he was pulled over Wednesday afternoon by officers with Charleston's Metro Drug Unit, said Lt. Chuck Carpenter, the drug unit's head.

He said the officers noticed the odor of marijuana and asked for permission to search Scott's vehicle. Scott refused and a drug dog was brought in. The dog indicated an illegal substance allegedly was in the vehicle and the officers then searched it. They found a small bowl containing 7.1 grams of marijuana, Carpenter said.

Scott was cited and released at the scene.

"He asked the officers, 'Don't you know who I am?'" Carpenter said. "They cut him a break by not placing him in handcuffs."

What a freaking toolbox. Yeah, Darrion, we know who you are. . .a soon-to-be former Viking, that's who.

The great part is that because Childress is still "waiting for all the facts" (or, as I like to call it, "seeing when we get officially eliminated from the playoffs") to do something in the Dwight Smith incident rather than having done anything about it in the first place, there's no precedent that's been set for something like this. So, Darrion Scott, like Dwight Smith, will face no repercussions for something like this.

Again, nice "culture of accountability" we've got here. And no, it shouldn't make a damn bit of difference that Smith has been playing this season and Scott has been on IR since Week 4.

We were supposed to be done with this crap. . .and we're not. Neither of these guys will. . .or, at least, SHOULD. . .be back in Minnesota next season. Scott's a free agent to be anyway, and Smith's last "tackle" attempt on Clinton Portis' last TD run on Sunday night. . .which basically consisted of tapping Portis on the shoulder as he ran past. . .pretty much did it for me as far as he's concerned.
