The Post Mortem

Hate to put a damper in the Chargers victory celebration, but they do realize that they have some more football games to play, right?

You wouldn’t know if judging from the way the players were reacting after the game. At some point you figured that Norv Turner was going to don an oversized cod piece and jump on board of The Midway and scream, “Mission accomplished.”

Norv was even on the verge of tears during the post-game press conference showing that this win was likely the Chargers’ Super Bowl. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms indicated that Turner did what he was hired to do.

No he didn’t.

Turner has no duplicated what Marty Schottenheimer did last season. The goal for a team this talented should be to win the Super Bowl, or at least the AFC championship. Not just winning your own personal Super Bowl.

AND FINALLY
Who tuned in for the new-look American Gladiators? Some of those gladiators will soon be subpoenaed to testify in front of congress.

Comments:
Can you just admit Norv Turner is actually a pretty good football coach?

Does anybody believe that the Chargers are going to be ready to play next week? And if Philip Rivers is an obnoxious punk before winning a playoff game, what's he going to be like now?

Ten to one odds that his team hates him and in the next game the center just directly snaps LT the ball the whole time.

I'm just waiting for the site to be renamed The Hatter Nation.

LT is overrated. Seriously. He is a slightly better version of Shaun Alexander. They both get cheap stats and whine.

1: If Rivers can make Chuck Amato look like a good coach, there's a chance he can do the same for Norv.

2: I think LT has proven to be a far better RB than Alexander. Shaun had one good year, reaped the contract, and has done crap since. LT has performed year after year.

American Gladiators was fantastic. The dumbass trash talk reminded me of Philly-boy Rivers.

Wolf rules!!! OWOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

In a sense this is mission accomplished for the Chargers. They are not on the level of the Pats, Colts, or even the Jags who are becoming a real threat. Those teams are too strong for SD.

San Diego has a wicked playoff history, and winning a game even against an average Titans team is a sigh of relief. This team has talent, but simply can't compete with the AFC's best. Making the final four is as good as they could have asked for. Winning a playoff game (LT's first btw) is all they could have really expected.

aw man...

why'd you have to bring up Cowher and AFC Championship games...

damn dude.

When will teams ever learn? Never go for the two-point conversion until you absolutely have to.

Tell that to Oregon, dumbass

Neil makes a good point, but I just can't agree. The NFL is full of down-trodden teams he make a sudden turnaround to win the Super Bowl. Just look at New England in 2001. The Chargers are pissing away LT's best years.

The Hater Nation is a satirical site that is intended for entertainment purposes and goofing off on company time. If something on this site makes you angry, you are probably taking this site a lot more seriously than the people who actually make it. Go outside. Take a walk. But if you need to vent you can go to the boards.
