2008 NFL Draft: LSU Prospects Glenn Dorsey, Ali Highsmith, Darry Beckwith, Tyson Jackson

A look at top 2008 NFL draft prospects from tonight's LSU-Ohio State BCS Championship Game.

LSU defense
DT Glenn Dorsey: LSU had four first-round picks in the 2007 NFL draft, but if Dorsey had gone pro, they would have had five. For much of this season, Dorsey was considered the single best player in college football, although he's more recently been slowed by a knee injury. Dorsey is a near lock to be a Top 5 pick, and there's a fair chance that he'll go first overall.

OLB Ali Highsmith: Listed at 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, Highsmith has played all three linebacker positions for LSU but probably isn't big enough to play anything but the weak side in the NFL. But he's such a good athlete that he'll emerge as a solid NFL starter at the Will linebacker, and if it takes him a year to crack the starting lineup, he'll be one of the league's best special teams players for that year. He's probably a late first-round pick.

MLB Darry Beckwith
: 2007 was an injury-plagued junior season for Beckwith, and he'll probably return in 2008. Like Highsmith, he's a little small for an NFL linebacker. But he's a hitter, and if he decides to turn pro, he could be picked as high as the late second or early third round.

DE Tyson Jackson: Jackson is the first to say that he was better in 2006 than he was in 2007, but he's probably the quickest 300-pounder in college football, and he'll probably be off the board during the first day if he turns pro.
