South Florida RB Dorsey dies

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - South Florida freshman running back Keeley Dorsey passed away at a Tampa University Community Hospital on Wednesday.

The 19-yeard old Dorsey passed out earlier during a routine team-conditioning workout at the USF Intercollegiate Athletic Facility. Dorsey was immediately given first aid on site and transported to the hospital.

A short time later, USF officials were notified of his death.

"The USF community is extremely shocked and saddened by the death of one of our student-athletes on campus today," said USF President Judy Genshaft. "There is nothing more tragic than the loss of one of our students, and our thoughts and prayers go out to Keeleys family, friends and fellow athletes and students."

"Our entire athletic family is deeply saddened by this tragic loss," added USF Director of Athletics Doug Woolard. "Jim Leavitt has spoken to Keeleys dad and he has offered our condolences and support. Right now, Coach Leavitt is on his way back from a recruiting trip in West Palm Beach to join our students tonight."
