Here is one of those classic 1980s commercials for a grocery chain using basketball as the selling point. In this one, current Maryland coach Gary Williams uses his glowing acting chops to try to get us to go to Krogers. Truth be told, this commercial was from when Williams was the coach at Ohio State and the lame Kroger's commercial hits home with me since I now reside just outside of Cincinnati.

The infectious "Kroger's Backs the Buckeyes" song is hilarious!

Thanks to Jamie Mottram for the heads up on this and the link to the D.C. Sports Bog which goes on to ask the question if it is time to break Williams off? That's a tough one. On one hand, he brought Maryland a National Championship just a few years ago. On the other hand, this program isn't satisfied with NIT appearances anymore. I can't see how you can fire him unless you have a huge coach lined up. Anyways, enjoy the commercial!
