Howard?s dunk lifts Magic past Spurs

Magic 106, Spurs 104 ? Dwight Howard leaped high to dunk a long inbounds lob from Hedo Turkoglu with 0.2 seconds left to lift host Orlando over San Antonio last night.

Howard had 30 points and Jameer Nelson scored a seasonhigh 31 for the Magic, which rallied from an 18-point deficit.

San Antonio led 103-97 with 1:54 to play.

Raptors 96, Lakers 92 ? Chris Bosh had 29 points and 11 rebounds, Kobe Bryant missed a potential tying three-pointer in the final seconds and host Toronto won its season-high fifth straight with a victory over Los Angeles.

Bryant scored 25.

Nuggets 102, Pacers 95 ? Carmelo Anthony scored 34 points, and visiting Denver beat Indiana to snap a three-game losing streak.

The Pacers were called for five technical fouls in the second half and coach Rick Carlisle and point guard Darrell Armstrong were ejected.

Hawks 120, Suns 111 ? Joe Johnson scored 17 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter to lead visiting Atlanta over Phoenix.

The Suns played without point guard Steve Nash, who missed his second straight game because of a inflammation in his right shoulder. He is day to day.

Nets 92, Celtics 78 ? Vince Carter scored 21 points and visiting New Jersey handed Boston its 17 th straight loss.

The Celtics? Paul Pierce, in his first game since Dec. 20 after suffering a stress reaction in his left foot and infected left elbow, scored nine points on 4-of-16 shooting.

Mavericks 95, Rockets 74 ? Josh Howard, scored 22 points to help Dallas rout Houston for its team-record 17 th straight home victory.

Tracy McGrady scored 20 points and Rafer Alston 14 for the Rockets, who had won six of seven.

Trail Blazers 108, Bobcats 100, OT ? Zach Randolph scored 40 points and Jarrett Jack had 12 of his 20 points in overtime to lead visting Portland over Charlotte.

Gerald Wallace had 30 points and 15 rebounds for the Bobcats.

Grizzlies 105, Timberwolves 97, OT ? Rudy Gay scored 19 points, including seven in overtime, and had a key block in the final minute of regulation to lead host Memphis over Minnesota.

Clippers 90, 76 ers 89 ? Sam Cassell scored 22 points and Cuttino Mobley 17 to help Los Angeles post its first win in Philadelphia in 11 years.

Notable

? Anthony, the NBA?s leading scorer (30.8 points), was picked by commissioner David Stern as an injury replacement for the All-Star Game on Feb. 18 in Las Vegas.

Stern also added Josh Howard to the Western Conference team. They will replace Rockets center Yao Ming and Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer, who will be unable to play because of injuries.

? The only person charged with a felony in the November 2004 brawl during a Pacers-Pistons game at The Palace of Auburn Hills will spend the next six months in jail after a judge determined he violated his probation. Bryant Jackson, who threw a chair during the melee, was found guilty of a probation violation because he did not attend anger management classes or pay $6,000 in restitution.
