Hello to everyone here at the yard. I shot this video to give thanks to all my fans here in the Bay Area. My goal is to bring a championship bout to the Bay Area, hopefully against Manny Pacquiao. The fans here deserve a big fight. I want to deliver. For those of you who have kept my wife in prayer, she's doing great. If you want to donate to her website, click on the link below. Thank you and God bless to you all.
Whats up Yardbarkers? Here is some video footage of me getting ready to fight at a charity event to help under privileged kids in the Monterey county. No date has been set for my next fight. I'm just staying sharp and spending time with my family. I'll be in the yard more often and interact with you guys so hit me up if you have any questions. Hope all is well with everyone. Peace.
What's up Yardrarkers? Check out this footage of me behind the scenes at KRON 4 with Gary Radnich. We had a lot of fun with Gary, he's a great guy. Although this video is a bit late its kinda cool to see what goes on at the studio. Check it out.
What's up, Yardbarkers. It's almost time. I'll be walking to the ring around 8:00 p.m. PT (11:00 p.m. ET) for my fight against Jason Litzau. If you have Showtime, tune in. I also included a video here, which includes a short interview and the weigh-in. Thank you all for your support, and God bless.
It's always crazy a few days before a fight. This one is no different. From what I've been hearing, Jason Litzau has been training hard for this fight. So expect some bombs to be thrown from both of us. I'll be firing them, that's for sure. Check out some video of me sparring with Karim Mayfield and a couple of fighters from the SFC boxing club in San Francisco.
Boxing writer Ramon Aranda interviewed with me at an open workout I did with WBC Female Champion Carina Moreno. We talked about my upcoming fight with Jason Litzau and some other stuff. It was a fun day as my good friend Carina and I were working out for all the fans in attendance. Check it out.
Hello everyone here at Yardbarker. I've been away for a while spending time with my wife and family while getting ready for this fight. But now I'm back and I'm ready to start blogging again. For those of you who dont know, I have a big fight coming up against Jason Litzau who has a record of (23-1, 19 KO's). He's a big puncher with a lot of movement.
The fight will take place at the Tachi Palace Casino in Lemoore on Feb 29th, televised on Showtime. My dad will be back in the corner again and we've been working hard for this fight. I can't wait to get back in the ring again.
With the love and prayers from everyone, my wife is now in remission with her condition. I want to thank everyone who continues to keep her in prayer. I'll be posting some video shortly. I look forward to blogging with you guys again. God bless to you all.
Hello everyone. I've just been relaxing taking care of my family. Everything is coming along well. I've just posted the last segment of the Honorio fight. On the big fight with Mayweather and Hatton, I'm picking Floyd. I just dont think Hatton will be able to hit Floyd. If there is a style to beat Floyd, Hatton does have it if he can do it for twelve rounds. This is boxing and anything can happen.
What's up Yardbarkers. Here is some video my team put together of my pre and post fight walk. This was one of my best knock outs. The fight was over in 56 seconds as I hit him with a straight left that my father and I were working on all camp. I dedicated this fight to my wife who we all know has been diagnosed with Leukemia. For all of you that continue to keep my wife in prayer, God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving.
This is some footage of me in the locker room where I'm warming up about an hour and a half before the fight and the commission is mandated to watch the hand wraps from my cut man Ruben Gomez.
Ruben has worked the corner of over 300 world title fights. He's the best in the business. His hand wraps feel like mini casts on my hands. It truly makes a difference in the fight if my hand wraps are done correctly. In this video you'll see the Arizona Commission rep look closely at the way Gomez is wrapping my hands. There can only be a certain amount of tape allowed.
My dad, whose name is Ruben also, is wearing the hat. He's working the mitts to get my timing down. My managers Bob Santos and Shelly Finkel, my brothers Ruben Jr and Randy, along with my uncle Russ are all backstage getting ready to walk out to the ring with me. Right before we walk out Oscar De La Hoya comes to our room to give us his blessings.
This fight was promoted by Goldenboy Promotions in association with my promoter Goossentutor. Check it out.
This is it. The final weigh-in before the fight is over with. I came in a pound and a half over, but I shook it off in time with a little bit of shadow boxing. My focus now is to re-hydrate and rest properly. I'll be wearing a Yardbarker.com logo on my trunks. The fight will be on Showtime and I'll be walking into the ring around 7:00. Tune in tonight and keep me in your prayers. Thank you all for your support and God bless.
This is me sparring with former #1 contender Jose Celaya. He's a few weight classes above me, but was great work as he is a tall fighter like Honorio. I'm excited to get in the ring and showcase my skills. Tune in November 3rd on Showtime.
Hello Yardbarker nation. I just got done doing a conference call with my opponent and it's going to be a great fight. He's ready to go and so am I. I cant explain how pumped up I am for this fight. This guy comes to bring it, so believe me when I say I will be ready for war. This will be televised to millions watching around the world November 3rd on Showtime (Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson AZ) , so tune in and get ready for fireworks. I plan on sending some video during fight week to let you guys know what goes on behind the scenes in these big fights. Stay tuned and God bless.
What's up yardbakers. I'm working hard, getting ready for the big day Nov 3rd on Showtime. Staying in shape, sharp and ready to go. They should be announcing the location and venue any day now. Stay tuned for an update.
My fight with Martin Honorio has been rescheduled for Nov 3rd on Showtime. A venue has not been announce yet. I'm happy that I'll be able to defend my title on a national stage. As you guys already know, I'm in great shape. For now I'm training back at home with my dad, but will be heading back to Big Bear in a few weeks. I'll keep the yardbarker nation posted on everything that is going on. Tune in on Nov 3rd.
