Yardbarker makes the grade

OnHollywood recently chose Yardbarker for inclusion in its Top 100 Private Companies of 2008, thanks primarily to all of the fine folks in the Yard. There is an awards ceremony on June 10-11 in West Hollywood; Yardbarker CEO Pete Vlastelica will speak on June 10. Hopefully there will be a TV nearby, because Game 3 of the NBA Finals is that night. Winning awards is cool and all, but it's tough to beat Lakers/Celtics.

Thanks again for making the Yard such a great place to be. If you're interested in learning more about the OnHollywood Top 100 list, click the link.

You're welcome! Congrats Yard!

Make sure you thank all the little people that you stepped on to get where you are. And more importantly make sure that upon receiving the award you spray champagne everywhere

Yay, YARD! The best website on the whole internets!

So do we get tickets to the event or what?!

Congratulations!!!

Woohoo! Way to go Yard!

YEAH YARD!

Woohoo! ! Nice!!

congrats :)

Go Yardbarker!!! Congrats!!!!

Nice, guys!

YES, great news, thank you for having us here and allowing us to BARK ;0 !!!

now this is what i'm talkin about, congratulations

Anyone ever consider a Yardbarker meeting/conference in Vegas? I'm about due for valid hall-pass to Sin City....

If we do a meet up lets invite a horse and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Yay YBN! Nice seeing you guys get some recognition. This site is WAY better and more original then all the others.

This has become the "myspace" of sports bloggers. Haha! The site is a great idea in letting fans and athletes come together and give their opinion. It's also a great place to meet new people who share the same interest/passion about their particular sport. I can see YB's showing up at convention and meeting other fans. A possible great promotion might be to give away game tickets or give YB's a chance to meet one of their favorite "verified athletes" (feel free to cut me in on the commission for this idea haha). Not only would this generate interest in the site, but it also helps spread the word of the Yard and thus provide more "hits" that could become a valuable commodity when it comes to obtaining sponsors (the links you are finding on the yardbarker site). A "small" investment could provide huge dividends in the future. I'm sure a little customization to everyone's home page would be welcome (a place to add music/video/custom wallpaper of their favorite team/player) which will generate more interest in the site. I'm not saying turning it into a MYSPACE per say (which isn't a bad idea financially speaking), but given the community and how this is a social site, I'm sure there are people here who would like to consider their fellow yardbarkers friends (thus learning a little more about the people we come into contact with). Anyway! Congrats on the growth of the site and continued success!

my coment begins with the Toronto Blue Jays Orginization where we have seen great ones come and go. They are in the mist of another great one called Adam Lind. What they do will yet to be determined, but i know that there are many contracts due, so what do you do with the best prospect you have. Would you sign and extend his contract or expose of him like you have done with many other greats. All i need to say from personal expiereince with Adam Lind is that he is a warrior on the field a man that does not feel the pressure, and person that can contionously come through in the clutch. If you do not decide to sign him to a very good deal someone else will, cause i know that he is the Jay Bruce of next year probably better. If you have not yet picked him up for you fantasy guys out there, cause i know theres plenty he is great to have.

Nice! Congrats on this, guys! We shall all rise!
