So now with the Wild Card games out of the way let's officially get started with the 2013 MLB Playoff predictions. Right now.
Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays: This is going to be a good series to watch. Two AL East rival teams battling it all out. In the Playoffs in Boston and Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay has been on a big roll lately. First by winning game 163 last Monday in Texas and then shutting out the Cleveland Indians 4-0 IN CLEVELAND I might add. While Boston lost two of the last three to Baltimore. But Boston is still the better team. The pitching may be even for both teams but Boston's hitting is better. Nobody from Tampa Bay can stop the great hitting in Boston with David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, and Jacoby Ellsbury. Not one is stopping the Boston Red Sox because they are taking this series. Prediction: Boston in 4
Detroit Tigers vs. Oakland Athletics: This will also be an interesting series to watch as well. These two teams faces off in the ALDS last year with Detroit winning in a great 5 game series. This year, Oakland is determined to beat Detroit, and I think they will. I know Detroit has good pitching in Verlander and Scherzer, but other than those two they got no other good pitcher. Except maybe for Rick Porcello. The hitting in Detroit is still good but Oakland hitting is good and better than last year. And Oakland's pitching has gotten better just from Bartolo Colon. Oakland is better this year than last year and have home field advantage, something they did not have last year as well. Oakland is taking this series. Prediction: Oakland in 4
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates: It is great to see the Pirates back in the playoffs for the first time in 20 years. I knew the Pirates could win the NL Wild Card game and they did last Tuesday. Great win at home against the reds. But the Pirates have an even tougher challenge in the St. Louis Cardinals. The best team in baseball, behind yours truly in the Boston Red Sox. The Cardinals have great hitting in Carlos Beltran and David Freese. No pitcher from Pittsburgh is going to stop those guys. And the pitching in St. Louis is very good as well with Adam Wainright and Lance Lynn. I would say that St. Louis could sweep the Pirates, but I will be Mr. nice guy and give Pittsburgh at least one win. But St. Louis is winning this series. Prediction: St. Louis in 4
Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers: It is great seeing the Braves and Dodgers back in the Playoffs. The Braves where one of the best teams in the league since April and, the Dodgers needed a spark from rookie Yasiel Puig. The Braves have good pitching and hitting but the pitching in L.A. is even better. The Dodgers have great pitching in Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke, those two are a 1-2 punch. And with Yasiel Puis and Adrian Gonzalez, no one in the NL is stopping the L.A. Dodgers. Prediction: Dodgers in 5
