There is also a big event that happens on the night before the Super Bowl. It is the NFL season awards ceremony. We decide which player wins the season MVP, who gets to be Comeback player of the year, and who will be Rookie of the year. Predictions coming up right now:
NFL 2012 Season MVP award goes to RB Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings: Adrian Peterson came back from an awful torn ACL and MCL injury and has a phenomenal 2012 season. He ran for over 2,000 yards and was about 9 yards away from having the most rushing yards in a single regular season. He brought his team to the playoffs for the first time in 3 years. Honestly, myself and many fans doubted his ability to do great this season. When I saw him play this year, it honestly looked like he never had a torn ACL and MCL. Adrian Peterson ran for over 200 yards in 2 games this season and deserves to be MVP.
NFL 2012 Comeback Player of the year award goes to QB Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos: Peyton Manning had a great comeback year. Peyton Manning had four neck surgeries in the 2011 off season. FOUR. That's insane and could paralyze a person. Peyton came back after missing an entire 2011 season, joined the Denver Broncos and looked great. He started off the season a bit slow but picked it up and had a very impressive season. I will admit, I doubted Manning a bit in the off season but still believed he would be the old Peyton Manning that we knew and loved. He brought the Broncos to a AFC West title and to the playoffs. If Peyton can have even better numbers next season, then there is no doubt that he will be Season MVP next year.
NFL 2012 Rookie of the Year award goes to QB Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts: The number 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft shall get the Rookie of the Year award. This guy actually had really good numbers. Luck first off played and started all 16 regular season games and threw for over four thousand yards and had 23 touchdown passes. Along with 5 touchdowns. He took over Peyton Manning's job as starting QB in Indy and completely changed the franchise. Brought this team from a 2 win team in 2011 to 10 wins in 2012 and into the playoffs. He also did not even have his Head Coach Chuck Pagano with him the whole year since Chuck was out with Leukemia. He handled the whole coaching situation well and used that as motivation to win games and make the playoffs. His team may have lost badly to the Ravens but he still threw for over two hundred yards. RG3 may deserve this award and might get it, but I personally think that Andrew Luck should get this great award.
So those are my predictions on the three big awards. Who will get Season Rookie of the year, Comeback player of the year and Season MVP. Find out later tonight on Super Saturday.
