Wow, it seems like the Boston Celtics 2012-2013 NBA Season is only getting worse. The Boston Celtics Point Guard Rajon Rondo is now out for the rest season with a torn ACL in his right knee. He suffered a knee injury on Friday night when the Celtics lost to the Atlanta Hawks in double-overtime. Rondo first arrived at the TD Garden ready to play the Miami Heat and end his teams 6 game losing streak. He felt some pain in his Knee during the morning shoot around and got his knee tested by doctors. He was declared out with what we thought was just a hyper extended knee injury. We then found out during the Celtics-Heat game that the knee injury was actually a torn ACL in his right knee. Fans and players where obviously shocked when the news first broke out. As a matter of fact the Boston Celtics players did not find out until after the game. Head Coach Doc Rivers told the media that he found about about Rondo's ACL injury before the game and decided not to tell his players till after the game. Small Forward Paul Pierce actually found out right after the game when he was being interviewed by ESPN sideline reporter Doris Burke. He was shocked by the news. " We just gotta rally around each other, guys just got be ready to step up and that's all I got to say." Said Pierce after a big 100-98 double-overtime win over the Heat. "Obviously the Rondo news is tough," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said after the game. "I knew before the game, but I didn't tell anyone. Obviously it was pretty emotional." The Celtics will just have to move forward without Rondo. I am going to make a bold prediction here and say the Celtics will not make the playoffs. I was starting to make that bold prediction when the Celtics where riding a 6 game losing streak but did not have a good reason. Now I have a perfect reason to make that prediction. Rondo is the point guard and star of your team. He runs the offense and makes his teammates better. Rondo is averaging almost triple double's a game. Unless backup's Avery Bradley and Courtney Lee can step up big time, I don't see this team going to the playoffs. Even if they make the playoffs, they will only be a 7th or 8th seed team and be eliminated after the 1st round. The Celtics really have their work cut out for them in the final 3 months of the season for sure.
