I get asked about our offense all the time. I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the play of our defense.

They have been outstanding. I've had the distinction of watching them on film having to play them twice a year for the last decade. While there has been a good deal of roster change, there are a number of guys that I have gone up against on the football field. Believe me, they are a tough group and right now they are playing the best football I have seen from them, ever.

It starts with the leadership from London Fletcher. He's played football at a high level for so many years; there is nothing he can't do on the football field.

I won't name everybody but special mention should be given to LaRon Landry and Brian Orakpo. I know that coaches and players throughout the league who watch film know who these guys are. They might not be household names across the country yet but they should be. If they continue at this pace, they should stamp their tickets to the Pro Bowl this season.

I hope that everyone has an opportunity in their lifetime to experience what I did Sunday because words can hardly describe it.

It’s no secret I went home again....and was greeted with an ovation that was overwhelming. Philadelphia - you gave me chills during that pregame introduction. I know many people didn’t know what to expect but I knew there were many fans I met over my 11 seasons who expressed nothing but positive feelings towards me. Previously, they may have been considered the silent majority but Sunday they made their feeling heard - loudly. I sincerely appreciate that support.

I must also thank my Redskins’ teammates. While I tried to make this seem like a normal week against an NFC East opponent, I must admit, it was anything but normal. We stepped it up on offense, defense and special teams, and pulled out a victory even though I didn’t play my best game.

I am very proud of all my friends, both old and new!

This past weekend it was nice to return to Philadelphia specifically to host my kids football clinic. It was nice to be in South Jersey. It was nice to see familiar faces. It was nice to have teammates - former and current - come our and help. And yes, It was nice to see some members of the media. But most of all it was nice to see the smiles on the faces of all the kids. That what makes it all worthwhile.

I think the media did a great job of portraying how much fun and how excited the kids were. They also did a nice job of publicizing the NFL players in attendance. Most of them explained the mission of the Donovan McNabb Fund - how in general we raise money for the American Diabetes Association but that this year's clinic was raising money for the new Virtua hospital in Voorhees, NJ, set to open in the Spring of 2011.

However what always seems to get lost publicly is the support that goes into putting on an event like this. I'll do role call.....

Of course, an event of this magnitude cannot take place without the help of the many volunteers and sponsors. That starts with Virtua Hospital and the Virtua Foundation partnering with us. The NFL players received the press but we could not have coached 325 kids without the help of the athletes from Temple, and the coaches from Cherokee HS, Camden Catholic, the Marlton Rec League, and our friends from NASA.

I can't say enough about Company 20, the hospitality and marketing company hired with running the event. I've worked with them for 7 years now and they always manage to run a first-class event. I must thank Evesham Township Mayor Randy Brown and his staff for allowing us to use their beautiful, brand new state-of-the-art facility. I have to thank all the sponsors that provided financial and in-kind support. They are: Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, Northern Trust, EA Sports, Modell's, Powerade and Coca-Cola, Campbell's, Jay Roberts Jewelers, 97.5 the Fanatic, Philadelphia Inquirer, USA Football, US Army, Papa Johns, Chick-Fil-A, Aloft Mt. Moving forward I hope to have that continued support from sponsors, teammates, teams, communities, volunteers, and the media so we can host more kids and try to make a difference in their lives.

On a final note, Saturday night's White Party for the adults was a success as well. I must give a big shout out to M&S Events Group, Octo, DJ Biz Markie, and all the people that attended. That money raised helps support the goals of the DM5 Fund including the Kids Clinic.

Next week is shaping up to be a nice weekend for Virtua Hospital. Already scheduled is my Kids Football Clinic on Saturday June 12 (go to www.DonovanMcNabbKidsClinic.com for more details). Proceeds from the camp will benefit their new hospital being built in Voorhees, NJ.

To top it off, if the Flyers can make a comeback from 0-2 against the Blackhawks, they could play game 7 on the eve of the clinic. I know the odds are against them - the Blackhawks are tough and determined. Although with 3 of the next 4 in Philly, you never know. Either way, congratulations to the Flyers for their incredible run.

I spoke with a few former teammates this week....so far Brian Westbrook, Jamaal Jackson, Todd Herremans, Jason Avant, Quintin Mikell, Michael Vick, Jeremy Maclin, Bobby Taylor and Chad Lewis have confirmed their participation and more will be there. I will also have a busload of Redskins' teammates coming up that day.

As in the past, we are working with the Boys & Girls Club and Big Brothers/Big Sisters and have secured some spots for them. We have had a few sponsors who reserved spots for their groups. I'm really excited about coming back to the Philadelphia area. There is a special feeling when we have a chance to work with the kids and teach them some of the things that our coaches teach us. Kids Clinic Relocates But Only to New Jersey Suburbs

Although now a member of the Washington Redskins, Donovan McNabb will always look at the Philadelphia area as a big piece of his life. Therefore, he will honor his pledge upon becoming a professional athlete and remain committed to the kids of this community. The Donovan McNabb Kids Football Clinic is just one way that he has connected to the region. Another is through his partnership with Virtua.

“I’m excited to continue the Kid’s Clinic in this region,” said Donovan. “We’ve been able to provide a fun, energetic, atmosphere for many kids over the years. That won’t change just because my uniform has. In fact, with the cooperation we have received from Virtua, Evesham Township and some of the local schools, this year’s clinic promises to be the best one yet.”

This year, the clinic will take place on Saturday, June 12 in Virtua’s backyard – showcasing the Memorial Sports Complex, a state-of-the-art sports center in Marlton, NJ. This fun-packed football clinic is open to boys and girls ages 11-16 and is non-contact led by Donovan and other experienced coaches and NFL talent. This year the clinic will also feature some of South Jersey’s top high school and community program coaches.

“When presented with the opportunity to help Donovan and Virtua, we jumped at the chance,” said Evesham Township Mayor Randy Brown. “Our community has taken pride in restoring this facility and what better way to showcase it than this exciting clinic.”

The Kids Clinic offers an introduction to a variety of football playing positions. At each station, participants will receive personal instruction and learn valuable tips. Drills are designed to cover the fundamentals of offensive and defensive positions. 

Cool down post-clinic, at the Awards Party, where all kids will be recognized for their accomplishments with special prizes awarded to MVPs. During dinner, meet and greet opportunities will be available. Net proceeds will benefit the Donovan McNabb Fund in partnership with Virtua and help fund The McNabb Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the new Virtua Voorhees Hospital, scheduled to open in Spring 2011. I was asked to respond to statements made at the NFL owners meetings that the Eagles would entertain offers to trade any of their three QBs. Here is my response:

"My position hasn't changed. I've said all along that I would like to win a Super Bowl and finish my career in Philadelphia.

"I understand the situation well and just hope whichever direction the Eagles decide to go in, they do it quickly. I think that would be best for me, Kevin, Michael, the Eagles, and any other teams involved. No matter what happens, I've already begun preparing to have an outstanding season in 2010."

Last night I had a wonderful time at the Borgata in Atlantic City. I was there to support, and co-chair with my wife, the 2010 Virtua Gala. The event is intended to raise money for the new Virtua hospital in Voorhees for which a part of the building will be named the McNabb Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. That is an honor that me and my family are very proud and appreciative of.

Frankie Valli performed to cap off the night and this crowd really enjoyed the show.

My family really values our relationship with Virtua and applaud Rich Miller, Dr. John Tedeschi, Jane Yepez and Robin Endicott and their staffs for a wonderful evening.

I wish I was going to be wearing an Eagles uniform in Miami and not just an Eagles helmet. As a Pro Bowl alternate behind Brett Favre, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers, I was made aware - although unofficially - I’m able to go since either Brett or Drew will be playing the following week in the Super Bowl. I’d gladly trade places with that guy.

I’m excited about playing in the Pro Bowl at the end of the month. I enjoyed the game in Hawaii each time I was fortunate to go. We have a nice representation of Eagles there and I look forward to being with my Philadelphia teammates. I like the camaraderie with many guys from around the league and the many events that the NFL puts on. Personally, I’d like to see how having the game a week before the Super Bowl and in the same city affects the game. I was a fan of the way it used to be.

Following the game I’ll stay in Miami for a few days and do some work at Super Bowl. After that, I’ll take a short break before getting ready for the 2010 season.

I know there is a lot of talk in Philadelphia about my future but please know one thing - when I came to Philadelphia it was to win a championship for the Eagles. Given the opportunity, I’d like to finish the job.
