What's up everybody. I'm excited that I'm getting the chance to write my first blog here on Yardbarker. Hopefully I'll be able to give you something interesting to read and some insight into my first season in the NBA, on and off the floor. I'll be willing to talk about pretty much anything so give me some ideas about what you want to see or know more about.
I had a tough start to the season. Some of you may know that I sprained my ankle pretty bad the second or third day of training camp. It was a freak accident but in a few seconds I was out for a month. It was a pretty ugly sprain...my ankle swelled up quickly and my foot and toes were purple for about three weeks. The other guys on the team made me cover it up anytime they were around because it looked so bad. The good news is that I've had time to get stronger in the weight room before the start of the season and I finally get to start practicing again a little bit tomorrow. I can't wait!
I've enjoyed being in Portland so far, and I'm getting more comfortable and situated in my house. I'm living with two of my best friends Matt and Ian and we got lucky and found a pretty nice spot to live with a great view, i can try to upload a view pictures and maybe a tour of the house if theres any interest. Portland's a great city (especially when its sunny like it has been the past couple of weeks) and the people out here have been really nice.
Today was a tough day for me because my team lost to the evil empire that is the New England Patirots. I was born and raised in Indianapolis, so I'm a diehard Colts fan. It hurt to see them lose at home when they dominated the game for so long. I watched the game over at Greg's house with him, our friend Brandon, and G's uncle. Taurean Green came and watched with us too, not as a fan but as a loud-mouthed, bandwagon-riding hater. I don't know why he was there; other than to talk nonstop about how the Colts were going to lose and to give me a hard time about wearing a Bob Sanders jersey. It's going to take me a few days to get over it, and I owe a few guys on the team dinner so I'll hear about the loss for a while. I guess there's always next week though.
Other than that I don't have too much else to talk about right now. Give me a few ideas for next time and I'll try to keep this blog interesting and as entertaining as possible. Thanks for reading. See you soon.
